Twitter (X) Expects more Premium Users

Good day to you. Hope the day is going well for you and it's going well for me also.

It's been a while since I have been using Twitter which is now known as X. To be honest I don't like this new name because the old name Twitter is good for me. I still see a lot of people calling Twitter instead of X and maybe they are also not ok with the new name but that is how it is. Change is done and the name is changed so we cannot do anything here. It's better to be familiar with the new name because it is not going to change anyway. But it is okay whatever you call it because people know it by Twitter as well as by X.

The people ending is done for this famous microblogging social media platform. The CEO is fond of the X character and this is why he has renamed this brand to X. Now with the rebranding you observe that this is pushing more premium membership to the user. When I joined a tutor it was not X and at that time membership was not that much pushed. Comparatively, I get more advertisements now and this is why they are expecting people to get rid of advertisements and subscribe to premium. I also get a continuous visible option on the page that if I subscribe for premium I'll be getting more features.

If I want to be a premium plus member then this is the amount I need to pay and it is going to be based on subscription. I do not like subscription-based plans because I lose control and even because of this I do not opt for an OTT subscription. I prefer paying for a certain period which is 6 months or one year whatever is possible so that I can decide when I want to renew it or not.

Now it is very common that some of the companies are keeping some features for the premium users and this is how they want to earn revenue. Twitter is not an exception and they are also trying to generate revenue this way. In other words, we can say that Twitter is trying more on revenue generation. The CEO Elon Musk has also shared in some of his statements that he will be adding more functionality on Twitter.

AI application is already integrated but this is exclusively available for premium+ users. I don't understand this concept because they have launched AI just for one type of membership. The other type of membership is not included which is a biased treatment. Every member is paying some money to the company and giving access to one category and not to another is not a good practice. The premium users who are part of the premium plus are paying more money.

Conclusion

I'm not a premium user and even I don't think that I should go for this. I can't predict the future but at least for the next few months, I do not plan to opt for the premium plan. I'm not very active on Twitter but I am active and check out my feed sometimes once or sometimes a few times a day. People are earning money on Twitter by gaining more impressions and followers but I think it is not my goal and I would prefer to spend time on inLeo.
