My Experience with Hive Keychain Swap for HBD to DEC

Hive @keychain is a useful browser extension and now they have added the SWAP function. They also published an announcement post for this feature. Swap means we can convert one coin to another and now this can be done using this browser extension so the process is very easy and one can perform in a few minutes. I have done the swap using hive engine because I buy dec tokens most of the time and I need to convert hbd to hive first and then send this HIVE to the hive engine. Once this is transferred to Hive-engine exchange then I use this to buy DEC. I buy DEC because I use this coin for rental purposes and many other things in the splinterlands game.

The conversion from HBD to hive is not easy but now it's very easy with a keychain. I thought of trying this browser extension for performing the swap and I will tell you that it was such a good experience while using the browser extension application for performing the swap. We can do a swap using the hive or HBD for any token that is available in the hive-engine market. Now I do need not to convert HBD to HIVE first because I can swap it directly.

Step by Step Process is followed -

I had 18.75 HBD and thought of using 18 HBD to swap for a DEC token. Its a token of splinterlands game. This takes the current market rate and as per this rate, I will be getting 21480 DEC for 18 HBD. There is a slippage of 5% which is good I think on the safer side. This price keeps on refreshing to ensure that while performing the swap we get the latest market rise and this is a good feature.

After clicking on swap it asks me to verify the details and confirm if it is OK to go ahead with token swap. It's good to verify and confirm the transaction because it can help us to ensure that whatever we are doing is right and certainly useful.

I verified the details and since everything was good. I clicked on the confirm button and then it started loading and processing the transaction. It also says that it is sending HBD to the keychain swap account for performing this swap transaction.

Now this transaction is queued which is like it is in process and the status is also getting refreshed in a few seconds which is visible. I like the feature that this extension keeps on sharing the updated status and we know what is going on with the transaction unless it is not completed. This is a good feature and I like it pretty much.

Now this swipe transaction has been completed and the same status has also been updated to completed which is visible clearly on the page where the swap history is shown. One thing I would like to highlight here is that this application keeps on sharing the updated status from time to time so that the user is aware of whatever is happening on the back end and this transaction is not left alone which is an important feature.

Now this transaction is completed and I can see the balance for the dec token in my wallet which is also within the key chain so I need not jump around and one key chain application is enough to get it all done. What a fantastic feature this browser extension has added where we can do it all in one place and there is no need to jump here and there.

Conclusion

It was a great experience using the Keychain browser extension for swap transactions. This has made my life easy because most of the time I use HBD to buy DEC and now I can do it directly with this application. It took about one and a half minutes to perform the swept transaction and the good thing was that I was updated with the status step by step. One application is enough to get it all done and we need not move on different windows which is also another useful part of the application. I'm very happy to use this application for the first time and I will continue to use it for all my swap transactions in the future I highly recommend you give it a try if you want to swap tokens.
