Recently we had a lot of posts related to the possible change in the APR percentage of HBD when placed in savings, which is currently at 20%. I believe that this discussion actually continues to go around, with several members sharing their opinions on this matter.

We can observe this information in our wallet:

The proposal, from my understanding, would be to reduce the percentage of the APR of the HBD in the savings and with that, increase the importance of the yield of HP (Hive Power), so we would have a focus and motivation to increase HP, instead of leaving HBD in savings.

As this whole debate entered the lines of the hottest and most accessed posts during these weeks, I decided to share my opinion on how having HP is a way not only to have more income, either by curation return or by your APR interest rate on the house of the 3.096% (this is variable), but yes, how to increase your HP is a form of commitment to #Hive.

Just remembering and reinforcing that what I want to share is my opinion, so I may write something that you do not agree with or that is wrong from my point of view. If this happens, please leave it in the comments so I can correct my text.

When I comment that HP is a form of commitment to Hive, the message I want to convey is that it is important for you to seek to increase it, in order to have an improvement in your income, distribute the voting value for posts, obtain income by the interest rate, in addition to increasing its decision-making and governance power in a decentralized network, in this case, Hive.

Since this commitment is the fact that you believe in Hive even on its worst days and moments, what we often see is that in its downturn or in a possible downturn, many end up doing the Power Down or simply taking their liquid hive and selling everything, thus giving up on continuing to grow on the social network.

This is bad in several aspects, because what we always look for and even passed by several whales and profiles that have been here for some time, is that if you believe in the network, you will want to increase your HP, showing that there is no concern with the difficult moments and that yes, we improved the HP to remain firm and strong, distributing our votes and evolving.

I'm sure you've seen a profile with a very old creation date, but your HP is between 200 and 400, for example, and you get that feeling, how is that possible? Having a profile created for so long, shouldn't there be more HP in it? And what scares the most: the user is active!

I make it clear that I'm not a judge, I don't question the motives, the actions could have been something done in a moment of desperation, because we know that the bills don't wait and yes, we want Hive to give us money too, as a result of our work, either with games or quality posts. Who wants to grow and be recognized, must also be aware that this can be the thought of many big profiles, so when we complain that we didn't receive a vote from a whale or even from other users, it may not be just because of its content, but when they realize such a low Hive Power, they might question: why should I vote for someone who doesn't consider growing up?

This is obviously an assumption, but I believe I would have the same thought if I was an active profile for years and had a lot of accumulated HP.

Touching on the subject of Power Down again, the advice I can share is to avoid doing it as much as possible, only do it if it really is an emergency. With that in mind, my current strategy is that my posts and their return in HP are already a reinvestment and if I need to take a part to pay bills or something like that, I use HBD to buy Hive and send it to the broker.

Quando comento que o HP é uma forma de compromisso com a Hive, a mensagem que quero passar é que é importante você buscar o aumento do mesmo, para poder ter uma melhoria em seus rendimentos, distribuir o valor de voto para as postagens, obter rendimentos pela taxa de juros, além de que isso aumenta o seu poder de decisão e governança em uma rede descentralizada, no caso, a Hive.
