Feeding some Exotic Pets during the Sunday

Good Day Guys

Let me share with you some of the exotic pets that my brother and cousin have. My cousin had to go back to the United States and he has been collecting exotic pets. He has tarantulas and a scorpion. He had to leave all his pets here with my brother and they are all currently in my room. At the moment, I think he's taking care of 19 tarantulas. Here's one of the tarantulas that my cousins left, It a Green Bottle Blue Tarantula,(Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens) or GBB for short. I think this is the prettiest tarantula of his collection. I just love its color. If ever I'll be serious and start collecting, I think I would put this on my list.

You can see how creative my cousin is, just look how he designed his enclosure. He loves golf so he put a golf cart inside. I love how the GBB makes its web, it just looks so majestic.

Sunday was feeding day so I helped and took photos of the tarantulas and scorpion that he'll feed. The first thing that he fed was the small ones/ slings. These were their enclosures.

This was their food for the day, dubia cockroaches. They are just tiny.

The first pet that was fed was the scorpion. He just put the dubia in front of its hide and then it grabbed it with its pincers. When I took a photo of it inside, it really looked funny because it was holding it. It was holding it like how a person drinks his beer in a mug. It looked so funny.

This is my cousin's Lasiodora parahybana, also known as the Brazilian salmon pink bird-eating tarantula, simply known as the salmon pink or LP. When we were trying to feed it, it was refusing the food. My brother concluded that it was on pre molt. So we have to wait for it to molt before trying to feed it again. Molting is when it grows larger so it would grow a new exoskeleton and shed its previous covering.

Next were the Monocentropus balfouris also known as “Socotra island blue baboon". These tarantulas are cool because they can live in a communal setup. My brother and cousins have 1 each inside this enclosure. I couldn't see them well but it really looked cool when the tarantula grabbed cockroach going down from the web.

Later that day, I saw both of them on top while eating the cockroaches.

This is my brother's Harpactira pulchripes also known as the Golden Blue Leg Baboon. it's still a sling. It looked really cute. I took some photos of it using a macro lens that I got from my phone. Just look at the legs and the hair. It's really golden. It also ate during that day.

This is my brother's Brachypelma auratum which is also alled the Mexican flame knee. When you look at the photo you can already see why they called it that. My brother named it Fuego. Feedting time was really funny because when it tried to do a takedown it missed. But later on it eventually ate. This tarantula just looks so cool.

I was looking through my shelf where all the tarantulas were placed. This is my brothers Poecilotheria metallica, also called the Gooty sapphire ornamental. It's still a Sling.

My cousin owns a more mature P. Metallica and this how it looks. I love the blue and yellow colors on its legs. It reminds me of the F/A-18 Hornet Blue and Yellow jet planes.

Here's my shelf right now. I have 3 shelves full of enclosures. There's one thing that we are defending this shelf from and it's ants. There are some hobbyists whose tarantulas were killed by ants. Though I collect ants, they are also my number one enemy when it comes to attacking enclosures.

I'm actually the one breeding the food for my brother and cousins tarantulas. I've always wanted to breed before but I only got my chance now. These are Dubia Cockroaches, I think this is the most successful colony from all my other roaches that I'm breeding. They actually got attacked by ants twice already but I'm glad that they lived.

They also serve as food for my ant colony that I have. It's really fun to be in this hobby. I hope more people will appreciate this. Do you guys have exotic pets too? Hope that you enjoyed reading!
