Beautiful and Sublime Sunday- Multi National Treatment Day

Good day, guys!

This post is for #SublimeSunday which is initiated by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday which is initiated by @ace108.

Before I slept, I was really scared because my throat was producing so much phlegm and I thought I'd get sick when I woke up. I got to see my roommate leave for work which was around 12:20 before I got to sleep. I woke up at around 5:50 in the morning. Slept for an hour and woke up with my alarm. When I woke up I still felt the fatigue from treating yesterday. I then got ready for work. I was taking my time but was regretting it because when I checked my time, the bus was about to come. Thankfully the bus was late for a few minutes. I was a bit anxious about the new timing of the next bus because it left 5 minutes earlier than usual. During my commute, I was just attending online mass and praying and reflecting.

The bus got to the metro and I was really thankful that there was no checking of our cards because that would cause a huge delay. Took the train to the next metro. And I was waiting for the bus on the landside because it said its arriving but it never came so ended up going to my normal route. I wondered where my other colleague was while waiting for the bus because we usually work together. He never came

I got to work and was just chilling out for a while, then had to finish the notes that I left yesterday. Then was spoke with my colleague while waiting for my patient. Then they called me to start the patient of one of my colleagues because she was late. I then started her and she told me about her life, with stress and pain. I only did electro while waiting for my colleague and was just entertaining that patient. My colleague came and then I ended up going back to my room. The colleague who was late told me about what happened, about him being late, I already told him yesterday that there are chances he'll be late because the metro station opens at 8 in the morning and he lives far away. They called me to inform me that my first patient was there and I started her. She was telling me about her life, wherein she tried Canada for 4 years. But unfortunately, as much as she wanted to stay she couldn't. She was telling me about her Filipino colleagues who activated their crab mentality and destroyed her reputation with her boss, so she couldn't get permanent residency. Ended up going to the Philippines, gave birth to twins and she's working here in Dubai right now. She was telling me that my decision with my girlfriend was good for our future and she wished me luck.

After treating her, I had to go downstairs and treat a Japanese lady, who had a hard time moving around because she injured her lower back. I couldn't do as much because her pain was so acute, so I just did a bit of pain management. And I advised her on what to do. I was surprised that she's been here for 20 years already. She was telling me how life in Japan is difficult.

I was able to speak with my colleagues and catch up with them, one was Russian who was about to resign already and my other colleague was Serbian, I usually speak with her during my free time. They messaged me the next patient was there.

My next patient was from Australia, he was complaining about the weakness and pain on his left arm. I've been treating him since last week, I was telling him that it's going to take time for it to heal. He just has to trust his body, continue, eating nutritious food, exercising, getting enough sleep, and don't stress out too much. I don't know why but whenever I treat this patient, it feels like he carries a really heavy presence, where he is not satisfied with whatever ever his doing. He told me that he'll be flying to Malta for work so he won't be able to see me in a week. I hope that he becomes better soon.

My next patient was the uncle of my doctor, I was surprised that he was able to climb the stairs. Usually, I would treat him on the first floor. This was the very first time he climbed the stairs after treating him for 2 months. I'm really glad that he was able to become stronger. I was just catching up with him. I really like his enthusiasm in trying to learn English. We finished the session early because he had to go to lunch. At the end of the treatment, he told me to list down the words, that we were talking about so he could practice it.

I was waiting for my 1:45 patient, and my doctor suddenly came, he said that I'd be treating 2 patients at the same time. He gave me one patient and he said that he would start the other one with electro. The first patient was from India, and he was telling me that he had been feeling this pain since 6 months ago, he never got treated for it which I think made it worse. I asked if he exercised it, but he didn't so I treated his shoulder and showed him sample exercises, during the treatment, one of the nurses knocked and endorsed the next patient who was in the other room. I ended the session with this guy and went to the other room, to my mistake, my colleague was already there and the patient was changing. I then transferred the patient to my room and he just seemed so frustrated with what happened to him. He was telling me that, his friends and family members told him that he changed already. He couldn't sleep as much which decreased his energy and made his mood bad. During the treatment, he was questioning me about so many things, he must have been frustrated because he wasn't getting any better. I tried a different approach and taught him some actions that he could do, and gradually expose himself. At the end of the treatment, he was telling me so many things, that he has 150 employees under him. He felt better after and even took a selfie with me. I hope that he just continues to be consistent with what he's doing. I wanted to speak some more, but my next patient was already waiting outside.

I took my next patient, and he's from Pakistan. He's been here for a long time already. What touched me the most was that he said that he loved what he was doing. Only a few people who I speak with say that. He doesn't even mind, going Overtime even though it's without pay. I said it's really rare to meet people who are like him. I asked him if he ever tried putting up a business but he said they all failed and that he's already destined to become an employee. But I'm glad that he enjoys what he's doing. After treating him I had my lunch break, during my lunch break I was speaking with my PRO, and he was telling me so many things about life. The children right now should be learning how to live a life where they have survival skills. He was telling me that some children are just so spoiled right now that they let other people do the things for them and not learn it themselves.

After lunch, I was waiting for my patient. He was late for 15 minutes. The first time is saw this patient I thought that he was around 30+, he was from India, I was so shocked by how he spoke and his perspective on life. I even questioned him if he was from India because most of the Indians who encountered, him looked so stressed out and thinking deeply about life. He's the complete opposite. He told me to just take life as it comes. It reminded me of what the stoics say that there are things in the world that you can't control but it will always depend on how you react. He was telling me also about, problems, he gave me a situation regarding traveling wherein you bring your luggage with you but when you reach your destination, you leave it at the hotel before going around the place. That's how we should be tackling our problems. He said that most of the problems are solvable so there's no need to worry too much. He also told me that whenever someone asks him how he is he always responds with "Excellent", he said sometimes that just boosts the mood of other people. I was shocked when he told me that he was already 50, and said probably the secret of looking young is a stress-free life. I just loved his aura and his thoughts. If only he hadn't been late I could have learned more from him. After the end of the session he gave 15 AED, I was saying you don't have to but he said take it so I got it.

My next patient was already waiting and I was a bit late when I got her. She's from India, and it was my first time treating her, but she already has gone to treatment. We were just speaking and she was telling me all about her adventures in all the places that she has gone to all around the world. It's just nice hearing stories and things that they've gone through. She told me that she loves dancing Salsa and I was shocked that there are a lot of clubs here. I was telling her that I have two left feet. I finished her and the doctor endorsed another patient from India. He looked really young. And he complained of his disc bulge. He already had a history of it since 2015, and he told me the whole story of what happened to him. I just said that he did too much too soon, which may have aggravated his back pain. I was telling him about my future plans but he was discouraging me from going there, because of the stories that he heard from his colleagues. But at the end of the session, he wished me luck.

I thought I was already free because it was 7:00 and I hadn't finished my notes, and I received a call that my doctor would be going up to endorse a patient. I then got him and he's from Singapore. It was nice speaking with him, he has been here for only a year. Kinda shocked because he is already 46 and he made a huge move for this family after being comfortable in Singapore. We were just learning from each other, and I was also speaking about the wages of people in the Philippines which make people want to migrate to a different country. He said that whatever I'm going to be doing with my girlfriend is a great move. It's just so nice to hear these kinds of motivations despite the anxiety of what will happen. It was so nice treating him that I didn't notice the time. The bus that I usually ride, left already. I then packed up and went out and crossed to the other bus stop that passed by the mall. I was so lucky that it came after only a few minutes.

I then walked and ate at my usual place where I get shawarma, I missed it, haven't eaten it for a long time. The cool thing was that the guy in the shop remembered me, even though, I hadn't gone there for a month or so. After eating I went to the bus stop, and suddenly, I was there again at the right time. I don't know why but my timing a while ago just felt so connected that everything was working my way, and it felt good. However on the bus ride, I didn't get the seat that I wanted, and someone who really had a foul smell stayed beside me, for some reason, I had sudden bite marks on my arms. I'm actually not sure if they were bites or I was just having Hives from the stress haha. I then had to accept my fate and was breathing through my mouth. Got to my community around 9 p.m. and was able to speak with my girlfriend for a while, finally heard her voice because she has been so busy lately. After that got home and spoke with some of my flatmates and he was asking me about my future plans, he thought that the luggage a while ago was mine. After speaking, I just got ready for bed and wrote this. While writing had a bit of distraction, my roommate was calling me to drink, but I told him that I had to recharge my social battery.

Today, was a really fulfilling day. I got to speak with so many kind-hearted people and learned a lot from them. There's one thing that I've discovered lately. I love speaking with people, relating with them, and sharing stories. I also love the fact that while doing it, I get to help them. Little by little, I'm starting to find myself and what my purpose is. I just love helping people and making other people's days brighter.

Thanks for reading stay safe always!

It sounds like you had a very busy but rewarding day at work! I'm so glad that you were able to help so many people, and that you learned so much from your patients. It's also great to hear that you have such supportive colleagues.

That's really true, right now, what motivates me is to help and at the same time learn from them. I'm truly going to miss them.
