One way of writing that has always caught my attention is that in which there are several endings, a variant is that each reader chooses the ending that he likes the most and from there more options are generated, thus creating a tree of possibilities . In a certain way in life each decision we make leads us to new experiences.

This time I share with you option 2 of the story The legend of the young old woman for those who chose option 2.

Old John

When John finished explaining to us, María asked him to show her the note to see if there was any way to break the spell, John took it out of a little drawer where he had kept it and gave it to her, as soon as she had it in her hands began to read it aloud.

"To break the spell you must do the same as I did, it must be with a woman you have never seen before, in this way you will regain your youth but the victim will stay old in your place"

We looked at each other without saying a word, the girls hugged John and we all promised to bring him what he needed to make him comfortable. John had decided not to pass that curse on to any girl, because he considered that he deserved it well because of his way of acting and that it was also unfair.

The next day we brought him food, some clothes and some books because we knew that he could not move very well due to his premature old age, but to our surprise old John was exercising, he had already gathered firewood and washed the clothes he brought. Apparently now he was only old in appearance, he looked very calm and even made jokes.

Every weekend since then we visited old John. Albert had installed a small electric plant for him and had brought him a radio so that he would not feel so alone. He looked happier than ever despite looking so old, he had read all the books that we had brought him and he asked that we bring him more whenever we could.

Every evening John would sit in front of the lake to watch the ducks, from time to time he liked to catch something for dinner, he already had a small plot where he planted vegetables. He told us great stories that he had written or that he simply imagined, he was very cordial with the people who visited him but he never allowed anyone to kiss him to avoid passing the curse by accident.

Years passed, we all got married and had families, we kept up the custom of visiting old John at least once a month in the company of our relatives, until one day we realized that we had all grown old, Albert was sixty-four Lucia was sixty-three, Mary was sixty, and I was about to turn fifty-nine. Mary had been a widow three years earlier and had decided to go live with John.

Little by little, John's friends died, first Albert left, then Lucia and finally Mary, I was about to turn eighty-four, I already felt too tired to continue visiting John, but the family and friends of the four continued with the tradition of visiting old Juan ...

"Finally at the age of one hundred and twenty-six, old Juan died, always with a smile on his face"
