Epic Predator Snails! Natural Ballance In The Aquarium!

Here is a clip that shows how the Helena snails are developing. It is (as mentioned in the title) a predator snail. I keep them as a pest control, just like in nature.

You see in the clip I have a lot of fish. This results un me feeding a lot. The shrimps and the snails eat the leftovers of the fishfood. This is awsome.

The snails that eat the leftovers are a normal pest you can hardly avoid. They get in youre tank by plants bought in pet stores or aquaristic stores. It is nearly impossible to avoid as often they come in as eggs and develop fast in youre aquarium after hatching.

This is the mail reason to keep some Helena (or any predator snail) (I do not know outhers but for shure there must be more) in a ecosystem as big as that one.

A invasion of snails can escalade quickly. The more I am happy that the Helena's are reproducing in the awuarium. This is epic as I think it is luck with a strong genetic.

Thankys for having a look and see you soon 🍀

Cute predators 😁

The whole aquarium is nice, I loved the neon coloured looking fish and that one, the dark with stripped tail, that was not moving...it was in sleeping mode or was shy from the video recording? 😅

Have a nice Sunday 👋

Yeah, thank you so much 🍀 I think tgey are cute as well 😃

Glad you had a.look and the fish you mentioned was in sleeping mode just like you thought so. It is a nighactive planteater and during daytime they just sleep on the ground and eat something if it passes right before their mouth hahah i have four of them in the aquarium, and spoiler alert, I am guessing one of them is pregnant. We'll see, it is hard to find some infos about how to breed them. Time will tell.

Have a great start if the week 🍀

When we had aquariums, we made a small part for the pregnant ones, so the big ones can not eat the babies. You will see if there will be more sleeping clack stripped tailed fish hehehe

Good luck with them :)

Yeah, I have some sort of square mad out of a thine net container to put into the aquarium for separeting the pregnent ones. But I have so many plants and not a lot of predators (two black molys) so I think for the first try I do not want to stress the fish to much and let them breed naturaly. Interesting how it will go, I keep you up to date. 😃

That is good then.

We had mollys, but not so many plants as you. So you can imagine, it was a party for them :( I was always sad, I needed to separate them not to see that hehe

Yeah, I know that feeling, had a guppy breeding station and they had no mercy as well.
But here I am better minded that everithing works naturaly.

Wow..... I'm not one to keep aquarium life, but I do appreciate people who have them. It's really beautiful to see how these creatures live as if they were in a natural habitat.

Hahaha I know what you mean. There are indeed people now who find that animals should be kept in their natural habitats as much as possible and to a degree I agree with that. I haven't really focused too much on the topic though.
