MY FEAR OF HEAVY DUTY VEHICLE

Fear is a natural and primal human emotion triggered by the perception of danger, threat, or the unknown. It can manifest in various ways, both physically and emotionally, influencing thoughts and behaviors. While fear serves as a protective mechanism, alerting us to potential risks, it can also become a source of anxiety when irrational or excessive. Understanding and managing fear is crucial for maintaining a balanced and healthy emotional well-being.

I turn to develop fear for heavy duty trucks base on multiple incident that occurs currently, here in Africa many driver who pilot heavy duty trucks have maintenance problem. They hardly maintain their trucks they just manage it the way it is without thinking about the risk involved in it.

The big trucks carrying giant containers make me scared. They're so huge, and there's nothing much protecting me from them. It feels risky, like they could be really dangerous. The loud noise they make adds to the fear, and it's hard to shake off the uneasy feeling they leave behind as they pass by.

One morning in ABA, everyone was crossing a bridge called Water Side. The problem was, the bridge is downhill on a slope called Gravel. A big truck with a container couldn't stop at the top and rolled down. It crushed lots of cars on the road and caused a big mess on the bridge. Sadly, many people got hurt, and families were really sad. It made me feel sorry for them, and now I get scared driving near those big trucks, afraid something like that might happen again.

This is always occuring whenever we approaching December. It really got me about a lot of things.

One Sunday, while riding in a tricycle with my parents and siblings on our way home, we faced a scary situation. As we rolled down a hill, I noticed the driver pressing the brakes, but they didn't work. There was a heavy-duty truck coming towards us in the wrong lane, and there was traffic. Luckily, there was another tricycle in front of us. Instead of hitting the truck head-on, our driver swerved, hitting the tricycle in front twice before stopping. We got off quickly and hopped into another tricycle. This incident heightened my fear.

A lot of drivers are selfish and only think about themselves. They don't take care of their vehicles, which can lead to accidents. Because of their ignorance or maybe just being selfish, many people have died early.

Is normal to get scared. But i was told that fear of accident won't stop us from driving, fear of plane crash won't stop us from flying, fear of drowning can't even stop use from swimming. So i got to overcome my fear, and is a gradual process, But i will do it.

Conclusion
Once scared of big trucks, I learned to be confident on the road. With family support, professional advice, and simple breathing tricks, I faced fears. Thinking positive and picking up defensive driving skills became my way to feel safe. Now, the fear is behind me, and I drive with confidence, showing that facing fears helps you take control of the road.

Despite that the memories are still buried deep in me.
