Responding to CTT’s Call to Action

(Edited)

I think I have to write about my recent participation in sharing the short videos uploaded by the CTT team.

After checking the 53 videos uploaded by @bil.prag, I selected 9. I consider other videos still too advanced. Perhaps, I will be needing them after several months or depending on the response of my acquaintances to the videos I shared.

So far, for the last two days, I shared six videos. The topics are as follows:

  • The Borehole Project

  • Censorship-resistant Liquidity

  • Web 2.5

  • Digital Freedom

  • The Builder’s Attitude amid a Bear Market, and

  • PsyberX

In this article, I will just cover the first three videos.

The Borehole Project

The Borehole Project is a story about two communities that got reconciled after more than a decade of fighting. The instrument that paved such a harmonious relationship is the Borehole Project which has been sponsored by Hive.

Here’s my exact comment on the CTT’s call to action:

One good thing that I learn by responding to the call is that I was able to explore how to create YouTube shorts and Instagram and Facebook reels. Here is an example of the Facebook reel I made. So far, five of my friends like it. I would never have done it if I did not stumbled upon the CTT call.

Censorship Resistant Liquidity

In the second video, the speaker introduced his theme by mentioning about people’s search for a store of value. The voice is familiar to all Hivers. @theycallmedan talks about people looking for a store of value in gold, fiat, and real estate. He said such stability doesn’t exist in the real world. He argued that “everything is volatile” and then he concluded that instead of clinging to such a store of value narrative, people must look into this “censorship-resistant liquidity that doesn’t go to zero.”

What I understand by “censorship-resistant liquidity” is the ability of any monetary platform like Hive to continue its online transaction despite the growing tendency on the part of regulators to crush or censor it. This concept is popular in blockchain technology and DeFi and is made possible by the use of smart contracts and distributed network. What I like most about the idea is the promise of financial access to everyone. This is the real implementation of financial inclusion that politicians find a very attractive platform in their political rhetoric during elections.

So far today, the video on Twitter received 26 views. Not so high. I think @neopch is right. He advised me that when sharing on Twitter, better not to use the YouTube link for the algorithm doesn’t like it. Better upload the video directly. Anyhow, that’s my first try. I think that's forgivable. 🤣😂 I told him that I will do better next time. Here is my tweet about that video.

Web 2.5

The last content I shared is about Web 2.5. This too did not receive much attention on Twitter. It just got 23 views so far after one day.

I love how @theycallmedan concluded his talk about Web 2.5. He describes it as "Web 2 on steroids, a much horrible world to live in."

I think Web 2 doesn’t need an explanation for it is the kind of world that we are all familiar with and we don’t like it. In my mind, Web 2.5 seems to promise “decentralization,” “financial inclusion,” and everything associated with Web 3, but in reality, Web 2.5 is a much worse place to dwell than Web 2 for the centralization will be strengthened to a much higher degree. To use a different analogy, if the chain in Web 2 is made of steel and iron, titanium will be the chosen metal in Web 2.5. That’s a far stronger chain to break.

And here is the YouTube shorts I made.

After sharing all the above videos, I went straight to 3Speak Discord Server to share the link to my comments following the instruction to participate in this call.

On Discord, I clarified something. I asked if CTT expects me to share all those 53 videos just in seven days. @starkerz’s response is very clear:

I think that's it. I covered all three short videos I shared on social media. That's my response to CTT's call. If you want to participate in promoting Hive, kindly check here the actual CTT article that explains this call to action.

Sharing the CTT videos is a great chance to promote Hive and CTT. The team has already done the hard work. It is not easy for many of us to create those videos. They already uploaded them and all we have to do is to share them on social media. By sharing them, not only that we learn new skills like making shorts and reels, but there is also an opportunity for us to earn HIVE. So, learn and earn and have fun.

Grace and peace!
