Short and Sweet #8 - A shout out to Obvious ideas that are Brilliant

I have been doing a lot of driving in the past 3 weeks, a total of 3000 Kilometres, for those of you that haven’t entered the 21st century that’s 1864.114 miles.

Madness indeed, but a necessary part of the Xmas seeing everyone once a year thing.

When I am on the road, I listen to lot of Pod casts, usually on the topic of Neuroscience and the brain, especially around creativity.

This has certainly given me a great wealth of information around this subject, I have done a lot of driving in the past 5 years and have listened to literally hundreds of Ted Talks, Podcasts and Audio books.

This last trip, I had just read the post by @ph1102 and he spoke of his transition from laptop to smart phone, one of the things he fleetingly glanced over was the ability to dictate to his phone and produce text files from his dictation.

Of course, I thought, I have been dictating into a small recorder for years but never used my phone to dictate into text.
So I madly got out the phone and started talking into it, It didn’t matter how crazy I looked, because hey I could be just making a phone call. nobody looked at me sideways as it kinda the norm now, to wander down the road talking to yourself.

Thanks, Zoltan, for stating an obvious Duh moment for me and spurring me onto being able to create blog posts with ease.
So this last drive back yesterday, another 6 hour drive, and the smart phone got some use, now all I have to do is make some sense out of my verbal ramblings and smarten them up for some posts.

One of the best things, was that I was listening to an absolutely brilliant Audio Book on creativity and the Brain and I was able to pause and dictate an idea or a paragraph straight into a text file, of which I can then print out to add to my book of ideas, without having to type out a dictation into a recorder.

Thankyou once again Zoltan for stating an obvious benefit of modern technology

It's crazy what can do these smartphones today... And we are only scratching the surface...
Thanks for the mention, and I'm glad that it works for you!

That is a great idea @russellstockley, and I picked up on it myself, though I need a better app for it, I tried Google's voice to text, but it cuts off too soon for me without any settings to change that behaviour, maybe you or @ph1102 have a better app to use, it adds a lot of productivity, keep up your great work and stay awesome.
