Researchers at Brunel University and Queen Mary University of London conducted a comprehensive study analyzing data from nearly 7,000 patients and 73 trials. They also conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies examining the effect of music on postoperative recovery compared with standard care or other non-drug interventions in adult patients undergoing any surgical procedure.

The study revealed that listening to music before, during or after the surgical procedure is beneficial for patients. Additionally, research reveals that listening to music can significantly reduce pain and anxiety and reduce pain medication use. Most interestingly, the research shows that music is effective even when patients are under general anesthesia. Additionally, the research shows that when patients choose their own music, the results are more positive. If you want to take a look at the research, here is the research link.

Undoubtedly, listening to music is relaxing, even on my worst day, listening to music helps me and helps me relax. So the results of this study did not surprise me. However, this is the first time I have heard that listening to music works even while under general anesthesia, and it is truly remarkable data. I think music should be played in all hospitals, because many scientific studies say that music has so many benefits. Music recommended by researchers conducting scientific research should be played in hospitals and I think this will help patients. Or, every hospital should allow patients to listen to music. Frankly, I am not an expert on this subject, I just said what came to my mind, but all hospital administrators should read and take into consideration such research on music.

Music is powerful enough to change lives. Enjoy the music and stay with Love.

Question of the Day : What do you think of the research? If you don't have an answer to this question, You can talk about your favorite song or anything related to music in your comment.

One of my favorite songs that I hadn't listened to for a long time is Everyday I Love You Less and Less by Kaiser Chiefs. I just listened to it yesterday and so many memories came back!

Congratulations @imfarhad! Count me in for another round, please! Thank you so very much!

This research of course does not surprise me, as I know well the incredible transformative power of music, sound, and the frequencies upon which they are based. It stands to reason that music would have a beneficial effect even under anesthesia, since what we call our subconscious mind, which controls about 98% of our lives and exlerience, never sleeps, and is aware of everything, always. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Thanks for the giveaway. I just started 2 weeks ago so this will be very helpful 😄 I'm also new to peaked, I'm guessing the heart icon I pressed to vote is the upvote?

Your research sounds super awesome, how do you test for improvement through the music? Would love to hear more about the testing! I totally believe this research since music affects children/teens as they grow. I did an experiment as a child and I had plants grow to different music, that was a fun experiment! I think classical music had best growth and death metal had least growth.
