BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge | CHALLENGE RULES

RULESET: Noxious Fumes

Description:

Units with Immunity are not poisoned.

This is a one-time application - units that are cleansed, resurrected or rebirthed will not be re-applied with poison.
Enrage is triggered by Poison application.

In battles with the Noxious Fumes Ruleset, all monsters start the battle poisoned, except Monsters with the Immunity Ability. In such battles, surviving is much more important than attacking or defending, so I place much more emphasis on the survival of monsters in battle.

In battles with the Noxious Fumes ruleset, I prioritize using the Immunity Ability and the Cleanse Ability. Because Monsters with the Immunity Ability are not poisoned. And Monsters with the Cleanse Ability remove all negative effects on the Monster in the first position on the friendly team so that the Monster in the first position is not poisoned. I also make sure to use Heal Ability if I have the opportunity, because Monsters with Heal Ability restore a portion of their own health each round. Also, I take care to use Martyr Ability in such battles, thanks to this ability, my strategy can become stronger in battle.

The abilities I mentioned above are the ones I use most in battles with the Noxious Fumes ruleset, and they come in handy in most of these types of battles.

Descriptions of the Abilities I Mentioned Above

  • Immunity Ability : This unit is immune to negative status effects.
  • Cleanse Ability : Removes all negative effects on the Unit in the first position on the friendly team.
  • Heal Ability : Restores a third of max health to this Unit's health each round.
  • Martyr Ability : When this Unit dies, adjacent Units get +1 to all stats.

Let's examine some of what I mentioned above in a battle. I hope you like it.

Battle Ruleset

ruleset02092023.png

  • Noxious Fumes: All Monsters start the battle Poisoned.
  • Aim True: Attacks always hit their target.
  • Active Units : Water and Life
  • Mana Cap : 31

MY STRATEGY

Since the battle has the Noxious Fumes Ruleset, it meant that all monsters would start the battle poisoned, except Monsters with the Immunity Ability. I actually choose the Water unit in such battles, but since the battle has the Aim True Ruleset, I will choose the Life unit because it could be very difficult to keep the Monster in the first position alive as the attacks will always hit their target.

Before deciding on my strategy, after reviewing the opposing player's last 5 battles, I thought the opposing player would prefer Magic Attack Monsters in this battle, so I chose Grandmaster Rathe as the Summoner. And I put Monsters with Magic Reflect Ability in first position and second position.

I put Evelyn Auvera with the Immunity Ability and the Thorns Ability in the fourth position. Evelyn Auvera having the Immunity Ability was a huge advantage in such battles but not having any attack power was a disadvantage but it has the Thorns Ability so it can be very effective against Melee Attack Monsters so I added it to the team.

In the last position I put Uriel the Purifier with Heal Ability, Flying Ability and Recharge Ability. And next to Uriel the Purifier and Evelyn Auvera, I put Venari Marksrat with the Martyr Ability. I thought that dealing with Uriel the Purifier would never be easy for the opposing team if the opposing team didn't have Monsters with the Sneak Ability.

I would like to point out that I have adjusted the line up of the monsters according to their health and abilities.

LINE UP

GRANDMASTERRATHEStats.png

Summoner : GRANDMASTER RATHE

Grandmaster Rathe is a Life Summoner that gives +1 Armor, the Void Armor Ability, and the Amplify Ability to all friendly monsters

  • Void Armor Ability : Magic attacks hit this Unit's armor before its Health.
  • Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy units by 1.

BLINDINGREFLECTORStats.png
Source

Position 1 : BLINDING REFLECTOR

Blinding Reflector is a Monster that can attack the target with a Malee Attack and has Magic Reflect Ability at level 5. The main reason I added Blinding Reflector to the team was because it has the Magic Reflect Ability, and I put it in the first position.

  • Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

PELACORCONJURERStats.png
Source

Position 2 : PELACOR CONJURER

Pelacor Conjurer is a Monster that has no attack power and has the Flying Ability and the Magic Reflect Ability from level 4. The main reason I added Pelacor Conjurer to my team was because it has the Magic Reflect Ability, and I put it in the second position.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

CHAOSAGENTStats.png

Position 3 : CHAOS AGENT

Chaos Agent is a Monster with no attack power and has the Dodge Ability from level 2. The main reason I added Chaos Agent to the team was that it only cost 1 mana and I put it in third position. I especially thought it could stall monsters with opportunity ability.

  • Dodge Ability : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.

EVELYNAUVERAStats.png

Position 4 : EVELYN AUVERA

Evelyn Auvera is a Monster that has no attack power and has Immunity Ability and Thorns Ability at level 3. Having Immunity Ability in this battle was a big advantage but Evelyn Auvera didn't have any attack power which was a disadvantage but I still thought it could be effective in this battle so I added it to the team and put it in fourth position.

  • Immunity Ability : This unit is immune to negative status effects.
  • Thorns Ability : When hit with a Melee attack, does 2 Melee damage back to the attacker.

VENARIMARKSRATStats.png

Position 5 : VENARI MARKSRAT

Venari Marksrat is a Monster that can attack the target with a Ranged Attack and has Martyr Ability from level 1. I added Venari Marksrat to the team and put it in fifth position, as I thought the Martyr Ability would greatly help my strategy in this battle. Specifically, I put Venari Marksrat next to Uriel the Purifier and Evelyn Auvera.

  • Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.

URIELTHEPURIFIERStats.png
Source

Position 6 : URIEL THE PURIFIER

Uriel the Purifier is a Monster that can attack the target with Malee Attacks and has Flying Ability, Recharge Ability and Heal Ability at level 2. In this battle, I thought Uriel the Purifier could help me win the battle so I put it in the last position and believed that if it could survive to the end of the battle it would greatly help me win this battle.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Recharge Ability : This Unit attacks every other round but does 3x damage.
  • Heal Ability : Restores a third of max health to this Unit's health each round.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

Battle Link

To be honest, the opposing player's strategy was also good, it's smart to use the Cleanse Ability in a battle like this, but it's not easy to keep the monster in the first position alive in the Aim True ruleset.

In this battle, I didn't set up an attack-oriented team, so in the first round, my team's monsters only had 2 attacks, but their attack wasn't powerful either. In the first round, the attacks of enemy monsters were much more effective. However, the Magic Reflect Ability and Amplify Ability were very useful in this battle, causing the magic attack monsters on the opposing team to take very serious damage, which meant a few monsters from the opposing team would die at the start of the second round.

Round 2

round2.png

At the beginning of the second round, 3 monsters from the opponent team died and 1 monster from my team died due to the effect of the poison. And enemy monsters destroyed Pelacor Conjurer while Venari Marksrat dealt 1 damage to Djinn Oshannus.

Round 3

round3.png

At the beginning of the third round, 2 monsters from the opponent team died and 2 monster from my team died due to the effect of the poison. Only Djinn Oshannus remained in the opposing team, while Evelyn Auvera and Uriel the Purifier were still alive in my team. Even though the Djinn Oshannus wasn't poisoned, it didn't stand a chance against Uriel the Purifier. Djinn Oshannus would easily destroy Evelyn Auvera, but when Uriel the Purifier took first position, Uriel the Purifier would destroy Djinn Oshannus in one hit. Also, even though Uriel the Purifier was poisoned, having the Heal Ability was a huge advantage.

In other rounds Djinn attacked until Oshannus destroyed Evelyn Auvera until in the 10th round Uriel the Purifier took first position.

Round 10

round10.png

When Uriel the Purifier took the first position, Uriel the Purifier attacked Djinn Oshannus very brutally and destroyed it with one hit.

Conclusion and My Opinions

The battle lasted 10 rounds and my strategy worked well in this battle and my team managed to win this pretty challenging battle. In battles with the Noxious Fumes Ruleset, Heal Ability can be as useful as Immunity Ability, so I take great care to use both abilities in such battles. Also, Martyr Ability also strengthens my strategy in such battles, so I give importance to using Martyr Ability as well. The battle above is an example of how these abilities work well in battles with the Noxious Fumes ruleset. It's also very useful to use the Cleanse Ability in such battles, but I couldn't use it in this battle because I don't have any card with the Cleanse Ability in the Life Unit and Neutral Unit. I recommend you to watch this great and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.

What are your thoughts on the battle and my strategy? I would be glad if you write your thoughts in the comments.
