Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Fab Four Ruleset | Splinterlands

avatar

Hello everyone, Welcome to my Battle Mage Secrets post. In this post, I will talk about the Fab Four Ruleset. I hope it will be useful for you.

Fab Four Ruleset

In battles with the Fab Four Ruleset, up to Four Units can be used, meaning you can use 4 monster cards. Fab Four is a simple ruleset that is not complex, but I recommend you be more careful as you can only use 4 units in battle. Using the most effective cards according to the other ruleset of the battle and mana cost will give your team an advantage.

Let's examine the Fab Four ruleset in a battle.

BATTLE

Battle Ruleset

  • FabFour: Up to Four Units can be used.
  • Wands Out: Only Monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles.
  • Born Again: All Monsters have the Rebirth ability.

Rebirth Ability : When this Unit dies it will self-resurrect with 1 Health once per battle.

MY STRATEGY & LINE UP

According to the rulesets of the battle, in this battle, up to Four Units can be used, only Monsters with Magic attack may be used, and all Monsters have the Rebirth ability. The fact that the mana cap of the battle is 45 is an advantage for me because I have the chance to use my more powerful cards that will be most effective in this battle.

First of all, I will choose Quix the Devious as the Summoner so that I could use cards from both the Dragon Unit and the Water Unit. Additionally, thanks to Quix the Devious, the speed of all enemy monsters will be reduced by 1.

In the first position, I will put Djinn Oshannus, who has Void Ability and Phase Ability. Djinn Oshannus can attack the target powerfully and also defend very powerfully against magic attack monsters. Djinn Oshannus can be really effective in such battles.

In the second position, I will put Runemancer Kye, who has Flying Ability and Life Leech Ability. The fact that Runemancer Kye has the Life Leech Ability and can attack the target with 3 Magic attacks provides a great advantage in such battles.

In the third position I will put Chaos Dragon with Flying Ability, Scattershot Ability and Blast Ability. Chaos Dragon is a dragon that can be very effective in such battles, especially with its Scattershot Ability and Blast Ability, and I believe it can be very effective in this battle as well.

And in the last position I will put Magi of Chaos.

The continuation of the strategy and my team's lineup is as follows;

LINE UP

Summoner : QUIX THE DEVIOUS

Quix the Devious a Dragon Summoner that reduces the speed of all enemy monsters by 1 and reduces the ranged attack of all enemy ranged attack monsters by 1. However, the primary reason I chose Quix the Devious in this battle is to be able to use my Chaos Dragon card. Additionally, thanks to Quix the Devious, the speed of all enemy monsters will reduce by 1.

Position 1 : DJINN OSHANNUS

Djinn Oshannus is a Water Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Void Ability and Phase Ability at level 2. Since Djinn Oshannus has the Void Ability, the damage from Magic attacks is reduced by 50%, and since it has the Phase Ability, Magic attacks can miss it. So Djinn Oshannus can be quite effective in these types of battles, and I take great care to position it so that it's a target for enemy magic attackers. so I put Djinn Oshannus in the first position in this battle.

  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.
  • Phase Ability : Magic attacks can miss this Unit (using the same hit/miss calculation as Melee and Ranged attacks).

Position 2 : RUNEMANCER KYE

Runemancer Kye is a Water Monster that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Flying Ability and Life Leech Ability from level 1. The most important reasons why I chose Runemancer Kye in this battle were that it has 3 magic attacks and the Life Leech Ability. While Runemancer Kye attacks its target powerfully, its health increases each time it damages an its target health by half the damage dealt. And I put Runemancer Kye in the second position. I can say that I put it in the second position, considering that there may be Monsters with Blast Ability in the opposing team.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Life Leech Ability : Unit's health increases each time it damages an enemy Unit's health by half the damage dealt.

Position 3: CHAOS DRAGON

Chaos Dragon is a Dragon that can attack the target with Magic Attacks and has Flying Ability, Scattershot Ability and Blast Ability at level 2. Chaos Dragon can be very effective in battles, especially since it has the Scattershot Ability and Blast Ability, and this is the most important reason why I added it to my team in this battle. I believed that Chaos Dragon could be very effective in this battle, and I especially love the possibility that it can damage three enemy monsters in one hit. Also, I really like that it ignores the Taunt Ability. And I put Chaos Dragon in the third position.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Scattershot Ability : Ranged and Magic attacks hit a random enemy target.
  • Blast Ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.

Position 4: MAGI OF CHAOS

Magi of Chaos is a Neutral Monster that can attack the target with 3 Magic Attacks at level 3. Even though Magi of Chaos doesn't have any abilities, it is a monster that can attack the target powerfully, plus it only costs 6 mana, so I added it to my team. And since it has 6 health, I put Magi of Chaos in the last position.

BATTLE COMMENTS

You can watch the entire battle from the video or from the Battle Link

To be honest, I can say that the only thing that worried me the most in the opposing team was Larissa Kerato. Even though it only has 3 health, it is a gladiator that can be very dangerous for enemies if it cannot be destroyed at the beginning of the battle. It becomes very dangerous for its enemies, especially after destroying a few targets. Fortunately I had Chaos Dragon in my team and hopefully it will target the opposing team's backline.

Round 1

In the first round, Chaos Dragon targeted Larissa Kerato and hit it, dealing 2 damage to it while also dealing 2 damage to adjacent monsters. Also, 3 enemy attacks missed Djinn Oshannus on my team, while Magi of Chaos missed Djinn Oshannus on the opposing team. Although no monsters were destroyed in the first round, the opposing team's backline suffered serious damage thanks to the Chaos Dragon.

Round 2

In the second round, Chaos Dragon hit Nerissa Tridawn and dealt 3 damage to it, while also dealing 1 damage to Djinn Oshannus and destroying Larissa Kerato, but Larissa Kerato was resurrected self with 1 health thanks to the Rebirth Ability. In the second round, the opposing team's backline suffered serious damage, which is exactly why I love Chaos Dragon. It was also noteworthy that at the end of the second round, Djinn Oshannus in both teams had 4 health.

Round 3

Chaos Dragon really performed great in this battle, and its attacks were incredibly effective. Chaos Dragon hit Riverboat Captain, destroying both Riverboat Captain and Larissa Kerato. While Riverboat Captain resurrected itself with one health, Larissa Kerato no longer had the chance to resurrect itself because the Rebirth Ability can only be used once per battle. At the end of the third round, the opposing team had 3 monsters left and their health was severely reduced.

Round 4

While Djinn Oshannus was defending strongly, the monsters in my team continued to attack their targets effectively, especially Chaos Dragon's attacks were very effective and the enemies were very helpless against Chaos Dragon's attacks.

In the fourth round, Chaos Dragon hit Nerissa Tridawn, causing it to take 3 damage and destroying Djinn Oshannus and Riverboat Captain adjacent to it. Afterwards, Runemancer Kye destroyed Nerissa Tridawn, but resurrected itself with 1 health thanks to the Rebirth Ability, but was then destroyed again by the attack of the Magi of Chaos. And my team managed to win the battle.

Even though the mana cap was 45 and all monsters had the Rebirth Ability, the battle lasted only 4 rounds. Also, none of them used the Rebirth Ability even once. My strategy worked pretty well in this battle and all the monsters on my team did great. Especially putting Djinn Oshannus in the first position and adding Chaos Dragon to my team was very useful in this battle. Using Void Ability and Phase Ability in such battles will enable you to have a powerful defense against magic attacks. Additionally, using the Blast Ability in your lineup will allow enemies to take more damage. And the attacks of monsters such as Chaos Dragon with Scattershot and Blast Abilities can be much more effective. That's why I attach importance to using such abilities in such battles. Although Fab Four is a simple ruleset that is not complicated, since you can only use 4 units, using the cards that will be most effective in the battle according to the other rulesets of the battle and the mana cap will give your team an advantage, and the above battle was a good example of this. I recommend you to watch this very interesting and challenging battle from the Battle Link. I hope you will like it.
