Researchers from the Department of Electronics at the University of Malaga have developed an audio-tactile algorithm that transmits melodic information through vibrations. And the prototype device developed will allow people with hearing loss to listen to music through the sense of touch.

Source

It is an audio-tactile algorithm that allows monophonic music to be transformed into tangible stimuli based on vibrations, through the use of “tactile illusions”. According to the researchers, "I's like 'hacking' the nervous system to receive a different from the real stimulus sent." The algorithm has the ability to transform musical features and structures taken from MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) files into 'vibrational stimuli'.

It would be really great to be able to enable people with hearing loss to listen to music, so I love seeing projects and research like this. A few months ago, I talked about a device that worked on a similar logic, but it looked like a backpack and was a little big. However, according to researchers, this prototype can be easily transferred to technological devices such as smartphones. This is truly awesome. It would be absolutely wonderful for those with hearing loss to be able to listen to or feel music, and it could also be used as a therapy to treat mental disorders and treat pain. It is still in development, I hope it will be available to everyone as soon as possible.

Enjoy the music and stay with Love

Question of the Day :What do you think about the Prototype Device developed at UMA? If you don't have an answer to this question, You can talk about your favorite song or anything related to music in your comment.

This blog post is truly amazing and showcases an innovative solution that could make a significant difference in the lives of people with hearing loss. The development of an audio-tactile algorithm that allows individuals to experience music through vibrations is both groundbreaking and inspiring. The way researchers at the University of Malaga are "hacking" the nervous system to create a unique musical experience is truly remarkable. It's wonderful to see technology being used in such a creative and impactful way to bring the joy of music to more people. Keep up the great work and innovation!

thanks for the starbits.
Interesting research, vibrations, sensations passed through the body of a person. It's more about feeling the music then hearing it.
