A coffee for the soul [Eng/Esp]

Starting the day on the right foot, for many is synonymous with a cup of coffee, and although it is not part of my morning habits (at least not on a recurring basis), I understand perfectly what they mean by it.

In my case, I could say that every morning I have two cups of coffee, one that goes straight to my body and the other is A coffee for the soul, a devotional especially for women, which is part of my mornings when my children are not at home.

A coffee for the soul, in its version for women, is a book with daily devotionals, written by Pam Vredevelt, directed specifically to the woman who is a housewife, wife, mother, and who also works.

That woman who at the end of the day feels that her strength is completely exhausted, and that to face a new day she needs a bag full of energy, the one that only a cup of coffee and these great devotionals can give you.

And it is not in vain that its title is a perfect analogy of what coffee does in our lives, in our day, and especially in our mornings, because just as a cup of hot coffee comforts us, fills us with energy and prepares us for the new day ahead, these devotionals fulfill the same function but in our spiritual life, and nothing better than receiving each day a double dose of energy to face the daily challenges.

So every morning, I sit down with a cup of coffee, sometimes black, sometimes with milk, and dedicate some time to my encounter with God and with myself, hand in hand with this incredible book in which the author seems to read our mind and our most secret fears and captures them in each line, always with an incredible teaching to face each day, each test and each problem.

And just like a good cup of coffee, it comforts our soul and our spirit.

Iniciar el día con buen pie, para muchos es sinónimo de una taza de café, y aunque no es parte de mis costumbres matutinas (por lo menos no de forma recurrente), entiendo perfectamente a qué se refieren con ello.

En mi caso, podría decir que cada mañana tomo dos tazas de café, una que va directo a mi cuerpo y la otra es Un café para el alma, un devocionario especialmente para mujeres, que es parte de mis mañanas cuando mis hijos no están en casa.

"Un café para el alma", en su versión para mujeres, es un libro con devocionales diarios, escrito por Pam Vredevelt, dirigido específicamente a la mujer que es ama de casa, esposa, madre, y que además trabaja.

Esa mujer que al final del día siente que sus fuerzas se han agotado por completo, y que para afrontar una nueva jornada necesita un saco lleno de energía, esa que solo una taza de café, y estos geniales devocionales te pueden dar.

Y es que no en vano su título es una analogía perfecta de lo que hace el café en nuestras vidas, en nuestro día, y sobre todo por nuestras mañanas, ya que tal como una taza de café caliente, nos reconforta, llena de energías y nos prepara para el nuevo día que tenemos por delante, estos devocionales cumplen la misma función pero en nuestra vida espiritual, y nada mejor que recibir cada día una doble dosis de energía para darle la cara a los desafíos diarios.

Así que cada mañana, me siento con una taza de café, a veces negro, a veces con leche, y dedico un tiempo a mi encuentro con Dios y conmigo misma, de la mano de este increíble libro en el que la autora pareciera leer nuestra mente y nuestros temores más secretos y los plasma en cada línea, siempre con una enseñanza increíble para afrontar cada día, cada prueba y cada problema.

Y tal como lo hace una buena taza de café, reconforta nuestra alma y nuestro espíritu.
