"Cinderella"

A few weeks ago, after several months of many rehearsals, Miranda finally had her special closing performance of the academic year at the Ballet, and we were able to see her being part of the staging of "Cinderella ".

For this presentation, you can not imagine the amount of hours of rehearsal that Miranda had, who usually Tuesday and Thursday rehearses from 5 to 6 pm, but for two months, she was practicing two hours every day, plus special rehearsals on Fridays, in another of the venues.

And the reason for so many rehearsals, is that it was a montage with the three cores of the Ballet school on stage, plus her group had a much longer presentation than the others, so it was necessary more rehearsal time.

And the admirable thing about Miranda is that at no time did she complain about the long working hours, nor the change of schedule. On the contrary, she was more than happy, because last year she missed the academic closing performance because she was sick, so she went to her rehearsals full of excitement.

Finally came August 5th, the day of the long awaited presentation, and we saw it not only once, but twice in a row, since they did one with the main cast, and another with the understudies, and since Miranda was in both, we had to see two shows in a row.

And I must say that so much rehearsal was worth it. I was surprised by the large number of kids on stage, without big mistakes or stumbles, which actually I expected because there were so many of them, on a stage, which for me was too small for so many people.

But as I say, so much rehearsal paid off, and we saw a beautiful presentation, where everyone gave their best to play their role, and of course, as Miranda's mom, I can't help but feel proud of my little skinny girl, who did a great job during the rehearsals and the day of her presentation.

Now we are waiting for the evaluations which are very close, so I will let you know how she is doing, mommy's little dancer.

And if you're wondering, what happened to the vacations? Well, me too. Only the orchestra rested, as ballet, chess and basketball are still active.

As you can see, mom and dad's job is 24/7, 365 days a year, there are no holidays or vacations, but without a doubt it is the most rewarding job in the world.

Hace unas semanas, después de varios meses de muchos ensayos, finalmente Miranda tuvo su presentación especial de cierre del año académico en el Ballet, y pudimos verla ser parte, del montaje de "La Cenicienta".

Para esta presentación, no se imaginan la cantidad de horas de ensayo que tuvo Miranda, quien generalmente martes y jueves ensaya de 5 a 6 de la tarde, pero durante dos meses, estuvo practicando dos horas cada día, además de ensayos especiales los días viernes, en otra de las sedes.

Y la razón de tantos ensayos, es que fue un montaje con los tres núcleos de la escuela de Ballet en escena, además que su grupo tuvo una presentación mucho más larga que las demás, por lo que era necesario más tiempo de ensayo.

Y lo admirable de Miranda es que en ningún momento se quejó de las largas jornadas de trabajo, ni del cambio de horario. Todo lo contrario, ella estaba más que feliz, porque el año pasado se perdió la presentación de cierre académico por estar enferma, así que iba a sus ensayos full emocionada.

Finalmente llegó el 5 de agosto, el día de la tan esperada presentación, y no solo la vimos una vez, sino dos veces seguidas, ya que hicieron una con el elenco principal, y otra con los suplentes, y como en ambas estaba Miranda, pues tocó ver dos funciones seguidas.

Y debo decir, que tanto ensayo valió la pena. Yo quedé sorprendida por la gran cantidad de chicos en escena, sin que hubiese grandes equivocaciones ni tropiezos, que en realidad me los esperaba porque eran muchos, en un escenario, que para mí se quedó corto ante tanta gente.

Pero como les digo, tanto ensayo dio sus frutos, y pudimos ver una presentación hermosa, donde cada quien entregó lo mejor de sí para representar su papel, y por supuesto, como mamá de Miranda, no puedo dejar de sentirme orgullosa de mi flaquita, quien hizo un gran trabajo durante los ensayos y el día de su presentación.

Ahora estamos a la expectativa de las evaluaciones que están muy cerca, así que les estaré contando qué tal le va, a la pequeña bailarina de mamá.

Y si se están preguntando, ¿qué pasó con las vacaciones?. Pues ¡yo también!. Solo descansó la orquesta, ya que ballet, ajedrez y básquet siguen activos.

Como ven, el trabajo de papá y mamá es 24/7 los 365 días del año, no hay feriados, ni vacaciones, pero sin lugar a dudas es el trabajo mejor recompensado del mundo.
