Steemit and the alt season | Do you have a strategy?!

avatar

The last couple of days were in the bullish mood. In crypto, we were facing a very long bear market with falling the prices each and every day. STEEM was not the exception.

But what next? Is there going to be a bull run of bitcoin due to the halvening? Or it is just a normal rise, which will be followed by a price drop or let's say correction? No one knows, but we still can get from it something.

What is your strategy here on Steemit? Do you have any?

I feel grateful for those, who publish and create content even the bear market. Those, who come just on the top and then exit or finish, will not benefit that much. In bear markets, you will find really hard-working people and devoters. Devoters to the project, to the thought. Devoters to the decentralization.

There are a few approaches here in Steemit. Some people have their exit strategy. Some don't. Some will be building strategy in the next few weeks or months, or even years. Some need to take/cashout STEEM at the present time. And there are people, who invest it or HODL it for later.

But let me ask you a question. Have you been on Steemit before bull run in 2017?

I haven't been here. I haven't experienced STEEM growth from $1 to $7. Some of you have, and I'm sure you enjoyed it. But if you didn't realized that there will be the cycle, you probably didn't sell STEEM at the peak. Maybe you expected it to go to $10 or $20.

Don't you regret not selling STEEM at the time?

If you sold 100 STEEM for $7, you could reinvest those $700 a few weeks/months ago and bought 6300 STEEM at $0,11! Amazing, isn't it?

Of course, purely hypothetically, if you hit the exact peak and exact bottom.

Let me ask you one last question. Do you think there will be another crypto cycle? With the peak of bitcoin and also STEEM? And followed by another correction? And if so, isn't it time to set up some exit strategy, for example at least with the liquid STEEM you have?!

Of course, everyone has a different goal and approach, but at least to make some kind of a plan and strategy is not a bad thing in the long run. Believe me, you might be then not reacting by following emotions, at least not that much.

Tell me your opinion and your strategy, if you have any. And also if you have any exit plan or maybe exit and re-buy plan?! Thanx for any comments.

According to the Bible, In Matthew 17: 1-5, was Matthew in the mountain with Jesus?

U mne je to jednoduché. Stále beru steemit jako místo, kde se můžu 'vykecat' :-). A to zatím žádnou strategii nepotřebuje.

To já částečně taky, ale snažím se také číst mezi řádky. A vybudovat si i výchozí a znovu-vstupní strategii, pro nadcházející krypto cyklus.

You leave a lot of questions he he he
That makes you think, I'm sure it's not just me but anyone who reads you.
Unfortunately I couldn't be at the time of steem and SBD with rising spikes either. Unfortunately, but I'm working hard, and I know that could eventually be a reality again, I think that those of us who have been constant will be able to take even more advantage of that rise, supporting and supporting other users.

My strategy? To keep writing, supporting, and growing my account. Relating to other users, very necessary to do so.

Good strategy indeed, the most importing thing here on Steemit is to enjoy the path. But in the whole-crypto ecosystem, keep in mind, that there are 4-year cycles. We are on the bottom of one and starting rising. But you won´t want to HODL through the bear market, believe me. That is what learned people, who were "in" and realized the pump of STEEM to $ 7, but not cashed out.

I could not live, unfortunately, that stage of prices through the roof. And as you say, there are periods of decline, but those of ascent you have to know how to take advantage of, otherwise you don't learn.
Nor do you win.
Let's hope we are in that bullish moment :-)

You need to stake more BEER (6 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)

I will continue to accumulate. I've been through a lot of ups and downs and missed a lot of the potential of the last part of 2017 due to the uncertainty of US tax laws though I did cash in a small amount, but none of it was from my steemit account.

I am not sure about all the US tax laws, but what if you just turn your crypto to stablecoin, DAI for example. Is that still the taxation event? Accumulating nowadays is a smart move! But there will come another 2017 one day or another and we need to be prepared mentally for it. To get rid of at least part of our portfolios and cashout.

Your suggestion is spot on and part of my plan. There's no taxation until you sell into fiat. The bridges to convert to dai without having to loose a lot in fees are available. I only need to determine what percentage to convert. Things are much clearer than they were in 2017.

Sure, we are one cycle behind. And there might be only 1-2 cycles like we know, in the future. Maybe more, but if the price will be 1 million and the difference between 1 BTC for new block in 10 minutes compared to 0,5 BTC...is not as significant as 50 and 25, or 25 and 12,5.....
I think there are few DEXes or Shapeshift/Changelly, which might do this quickly with low fees. I mean from BTC to DAI for example, or ETH to DAI. Then you can lock it on Compound or anywhere else for 6% for 1-2 years to wait for another move up from the dip.

I think activity in the Project Hope group doubled in the last 2-3 days. All want to earn some crypto? Other sign of the altcoin price surge. Maybe a baby-rally.

Yes, the price of STEEM and crypto is relevant. More people writing/publishing, definetely! I hope there will be more and more.

I arrived at Steem and after the fall of 2017, I did not live that time.

Certainly I have lacked to think of a strategy to work with the cycles of this blockchain, that is a weakness that I should solve.

I have a certain expectation that a possible increase in the price of Bitcoin will drag the other cryptocurrencies, as happened in other opportunities.

I think so, it will get altcoins up together with bitcoin. Maybe it might happen after breaking ATH (20k), maybe they will go up from now (and then the dominance of bitcoin will fall). We are in the middle of the cycle, already bottomed, so now we will have "good times". But if some will have not a strategy and mental set-up, that the peak might happen like in 2017, and then another 85%-99% fall (correction), one could be desperate by the non-existing strategy behavior. I am not here to tell you when to sell all, but I would like to encourage you to think about those cycles and how to work with them.

Hi @ritxi

Solid read. Upvoted already.

I've noticed that you're not reading and replying to comments :( So I'm not sure if there is any point in writting one lol .

Think about it. it's very easy to lose audience. Once people will memorize that you do not engage back - they will simply stop reading and commenting. That's just simple as that.

Ciao :)
