You should go for high volume and low competitive keywords so that it gets easier to rank on Google. In the beginning, you can focus on long-tail keywords. Long-tail keywords consist of three or more than three keyword phrases.
If you want to sell your products or services, it is better to target long-tail keywords because it is specific and it converts well.
Now you can make content around your keywords that give value to the end-users. If you can do SEO, that's great. Otherwise, it is better to hire an SEO professional who will optimize your website and fix all technical and on-page issues.
SEO is a continuous process. Once you do SEO and it's over, this is not like that. You have to do it consistently. You can do competitors' analysis and figure out what to do to get your website higher on the search engine.
