Are you wondering about who is hacking and scamming people and how they do that? Crypto investigator ZachXBT revealed very valuable information about hackers and scammers. According to ZachXBT's investigation, a Canadian hacker who is known as Soup (Dan) is the mastermind behind several high-profile scams and phishing attacks.

Soup (Dan) helped to launch high-profile phishing attacks and stole more than $1 million in assets. This hacker along with his team successfully hacked the Discord server of several Web 3 projects. He attacked the Pika Protocol Discord Server and managed to steal more than $220k worth of crypto assets. Not only that, he is behind exploiting the Orbiter Finance Discord server and stealing over $760k.

It is surprising how they are able to get access to Web 3 projects' official Discord server and scam people all over the world. Soup (Dan) impersonates Decrypt’s senior software engineer Luke Hamilton. He creates a fake Decrypt website and reaches out to legit crypto projects.

He tricks them into joining the Decrypt Discord server which is a fake one. Then he attempts to steal Web 3 projects' Discord token. Once he gets access to the targeted Discord server, he along with his team tricks people to fall into their traps.

When you see any message from the official Discord server of a Web 3 project, you will trust that since it comes from a trusted source. Potential victims usually have no idea at that point that the Discord server is compromised and they see what hackers show them. People easily fall for scams.

ZachXBT did a great job and shared more information about the hacker with the victims so that they can take legal action. It is better to double-check something if that looks suspicious. In case something is too good to be true, you must check that out properly before taking any further action.

It sounds like people have to be careful linking their Discord account or clicking links on Discord.

People usually trust announcement that comes from the official Discord server. Looks like you should be careful even when you get it on the official Discord server.
