Resonator is happy to donate thousands of ACTs to projects that need them. However, there is currently no way to transfer them. Maybe we can get a transfer feature added to the next update to the core chain, any comment @howo or @blocktrades? thanks

I have expressed my desire to donate my ACTs before. I am only a Dolphin sized accounts with 345 ACTs. If enough users express interest, we may get this ability. Even an ability to let another account use my ACTs would be fine. It could be a one time transaction I made to authorize a project use my accounts. We cannot be the only people ready to donate. @dbuzz and other like it should find over 10,000 ACTs if they ask around. All we need is one extra feature for the next hard fork.

I don't think it is a good idea to make them transferable. I actually think the ACTs were a bad idea from the beginning: they were obviously created by Steemit to get away from their promise to use the ninja stake for onboarding new people. Now it is basically just a perk for big accounts. Making them transferable would create a market that would only make it more of a perk for the big accounts.

Having accounts be purchased is the best way to prevent abuse by spammers who will otherwise create as many accounts as they can. ACTs already bypass this to some extent, but it could be much worse if they were transferable.

I think the best solution is a good system for handling lite accounts at the 2nd layer. We're planning to implement this after the upcoming release. My guess is we will have something by the end of Summer. We're also looking at collaborating with the VSC project, as they also have some ideas about implementation.

It is great to hear about the details of what is going on behind the scenes. It is an interesting approach. Will this feature go live after the next hard fork or one after the next?

It won't require a hardfork, so we can release it at any time.
