Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - The Gladius Case Shakes...

Time flies! Just completed the 131st brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving Back To Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I made the decision to move back to a Bronze level fray, which is where my cards are at. It proved to a good decision but I was back to winning form!

Had 8 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 8th!!

So for the final result, we were 8th out of 10 guilds and got 538 Merits and around 10 SPS! It was not down to bad result this time, but rather, an extremely low participation.

Individually, I had 8 fights this time and I won 7 of them this time! Finished TOP within the guild! Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. Hence there was 1 additional win for me.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

It's so fun being back to Bronze frays! What an easy win to kick start the brawl. With Thorns and Return Fire in the ruleset, I decided to go with a full Magic lineup with Chaos Dragon, and the entire Magic lineup worked well. My opponent had a bad lineup and ended up receiving a lot of Thorns and Return Fire.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

For this Five Alive battle, Ulundin Overseer showcased its ability to the fullest, allowing Drybone Raider to deal all 4 hits from the second position. Moreover, with 6 armor and 12 HP, Ulundin Overseer was so tough to take down. Definitely the MVP for this battle.

Battle 3 - WIN

Opponent fled! Having a good run! 3 wins now!

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This was the sort of battle that Fernheart is a must-have. Being able to attack from tank position for an all Ranged battle is half the battle won. I had some troubles early in the game as my damage output was lacking but Venari Seedsmith ended the battle on a good note with 10 HP from all that Scavenging.

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Gorth

This was an one round battle. From the looks of the lineup, it was obvious what would happen. The use of Gladius cards was critical here and Gorth easily won this 1 vs 1 battle.

Battle 6 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Captain Katie and Ajax Lightfoot

Ouch that was a disappointing loss. Both teams put out equally strong lineups, and employed the same strategy, i.e. slotting Venari Marksrat between two Gladius cards. However, both teams had to manage the Poison damage and the sequence of turns weren't in my favour and my team succumbed to Poison first. Slightly unlucky but I ought to do better.

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

WHAT A BATTLE! Both teams went all out on this and all my cards had to work together to produce this unbelievable result. I was having an advantage until my opponent Usut gained 3 Bloodlusts in a row and made things very difficult for my team. Somehow, I managed to take down the boosted Usut just in time and what a show by Lira The Dark. She swiped at high speed, brought down Flying cards, and hunted down low HP cards with the Opportunity card. If there was an ad for Lira The Dark, it would be this battle.

Battle 8 - WIN

After a rough fight, opponent fled for this one!

So that sums up my 8 battles for this brawl! A 88% win rate, back to Bronze fray and back to winning ways!
