Notwithstanding great advancements in promoting gender equality, there are still frighteningly few women in positions of authority of leadership.

The discrepancy is a result of deeply ingrained social standards, prejudice against gender, and restricted access to chances. Encouraging open societies and advocating for an improved equal future depend on having an in-depth awareness of the obstacles that prevent women from assuming positions of leadership.

Factors contributing to women's poor participation in governance

Here are reasons why women may likely not participate in governance;

The current system
Women are discouraged from taking on managerial positions by the current framework of leadership, which is largely controlled by men. Lack of diversity in representation strengthens discrimination based on gender, reinforces societal norms, and promotes a culture where women's ability is undervalued. This disencouragement limits the chances available to women and slows down efforts to achieve true equality between men and women in authority.
I suggest some political offices should also be designated for women apart from ministry of women affairs. This will enable us to get enthusiasm for politics.

I can remember that while I was a student, I applied for the SUG position in my school. Guess what? I was the only female among six males who picked interest in same position. This was very disheartening.

Women are not supportive to themselves
The absence of female leadership is a result of the absence of encouragement between women. Due to the lack of support and mentorship offered by their female colleagues, women may be reluctant to apply for managerial positions, which is problematic because it prevents equal opportunities for women in leadership posts.

I also remember that throughout the voting time at my school, only young males and then a small number of people backed me up, even my female friends I had accommodated sometime in the past never supported me but we are still friends though.

Women should be of support to each other.

The method can this threat be reduced?

I will refer to this as a threat though because the society and the country as a whole occupied with male representative isn't even better at all.

Here are methods to curtail this threat

Assistance in mentoring
Having a mentor enables women to take on leadership roles by offering support, encouragement, and insightful advice. Women develop their confidence, broaden their skill sets, and deal with obstacles with the help of seasoned mentors. This nourishing bond cultivates a sense of community and inspires women to take up positions of power with more confidence and grit.

Setting up seminars
By providing them with useful information, workshops that help them develop their leadership skills, and motivational tales from accomplished women leaders, conferences for women can inspire them to take on roles of leadership. These lectures establish a welcoming environment for networking, boosting self-assurance and relationships. Women are motivated to take up leadership responsibilities with a fresh zeal when they are exposed to leadership chances and tactics.

Reading of political books
Reading political books encourages women to participate in politics by studying diverse political perspectives. It helps women develop critical thinking skills, enabling them to form informed opinions and contribute meaningfully to debates.

It also help to explore the intersection of gender with race, class, and other identities help women grasp the complexities of political issues affecting diverse communities.

Women supporting women
Women supporting other women in leadership creates a positive and empowering environment, breaking the barriers of gender bias and fostering a culture of inclusivity. Visible role models and mentorship inspire confidence in aspiring female leaders. As more women succeed and thrive in leadership positions, it dispels stereotypes, encouraging other women to step forward, knowing they have a strong support network. With this, women can better understand the complicated issues between political issues confronting different demographics by exploring the intersections of race, class, sexual orientation, and other factors.

Inspiring Environment
A pleasant and inspiring environment is created when women help other women in managerial positions, dismantling discrimination based on gender and promoting an inclusive culture. Ambitious female leaders gain assurance from coaching and visible exemplars. As more women achieve success and thrive in leadership roles, preconceptions are broken and more women are inspired to take the lead because they know they're supported by an extensive base of supporters.

Conclusion
Women should support and promote other women in positions of leadership since doing so creates an effective support system. Women can break down barriers, confront misconceptions, and promote a broader and more varied leadership landscape by supporting and educating one another. This will ultimately lead to good change and advance gender parity in all facets of society.

Woman in business at all levels play an important role, one needs to be motivated to go out and challenge ideas already in place.

Support comes from joining into seminars sharing knowledge gained, if a jug is full some needs to be poured out to add more, it is the same with learning/teaching, share with younger arriving, then all are able to grow.
