Good Morning/Evening to everybody

Splinterlands is possibly the first game that I have given so much priority or else I am not really into gaming. Not sure why, but this sector was not able to attract me in any particular way but hopefully someday it will and I will be somewhat of a gaming freak in any way imaginable.

Let me not bore you much, moving on to today's post. This post is a participation of a contest that is hed by @bdcommunity and the official announcement is here. In order to participate first, I was searching for a 12 mana battle and honestly, I am not a very big fan of low mana battles. Probably, because I do not get to choose my fav monsters (which most of them are of high mana). Let me share what I got and how I played and why I choose the monsters? I will try to go through my explanations, in as easy terms as possible.

I got a couple of matches which are of 12 mana but this was kind of exciting to share and I somehow thought the outcome would be a little different in this regard. This match had the rule of Close Range & Healed out. All the splinters were active thus, I went with Fire splinter.

Whenever I get to see the healed out rule, the first idea that comes to mind is the most effective splinter is the water splinter or the magic attack monsters. Honestly, if it was a big mana game, I would have probably gone with Water splinter or some magic mana monsters.

The choice was not really limited but one of the main reasons going with Lord Ariunthus was I was expecting some magic attack and in addition to that the thorn ability gave me an extra upper hand. As in this sort of condition, most of the time the opponent comes with magic and followed by ranged attack or in this case snipe attack. I am using it at level 3 as because my summoner is not upgraded which allows me use it at this level. Which unlocks Shield, Void, Magic Reflect and my favorite Thorns ability. Two things were going no my mind, first one was, if any magic monsters come around the reflect would give an additional perk and the second one was for the melee attack coming from the first few monsters would also be taken care of, which would give me some additional perk for my rest of the monsters to do the rest of the work.

Little did I know, my opponent was thinking otherwise, QTU came up with two sneak attacks making the situation a little tough for me. Unexpected visit I should say!

While since I had 4 more mana left, I was initially thinking of using Fire Demon but was trying to get more from the back of the opponent thus went with a sneak attack monster, the Kobold Miner in the 2nd position. Alric gave +1 melee attack in here and it was somewhat of a nice back up to come up from this position.

Now since I had 2 more mana left, I went with IMP Bowman. The initial reason was it has +4 speed and also the flying ability , which gives a chance of evading melee or ranged attack from non flying monsters. And also it's +2 ranged attack and piercing ability would be a benefit for me to send some attacks to the opponent. I was probably thinking too much upon the selection of the monsters.

The conclusion :

As you can see in the battle, the match was quite a fierce one and it ended up in a draw. Which really gave me chills lol. As because I was expecting to lose the match.

What went wrong?

Remember, every monster that we have has its use case, I forgot to use that one neutral monster which could have saved me in this battle, yep I am talking about FURIOUS CHICKEN using that in the last position could have made me win this match. Easy peasy! In addition to that, the creeping Ooze made my monsters loose +1 speed, which is why, my last monsters took a direct hit from the opponent of sneak monsters, if ooze was dealt with or not used by the opponent, my IMP could have got the chance the evade the attack, hence the situation could have been different.

A different scenario, under different circumstance?

Now this line up of mine would have been best suited, if my opponent would have came up with a magic attack line up and no sneak ability monsters. Because I went in the game with that mindset and got struck by surprise. If that would have happened, then my line up would have taken the best use case of it. But on the other hand, if that magic attack monster had blast ability like R.of Seas, I would have been done for lol.

But on another note, it was nice to see a battle that ended up with a draw! So that sums up today's blog and hopefully, your visit was worth it. Let me know what could you find in the battle! ;)

Thanks for sharing! - @mango-juice

Nice post Rehan and what a thumbnail you have made! The overall look is also awesome. I like the fire deck too, but yeah furious chicken always help you getting one less attack on your valuable monster. I am sure you will not forget to use it from now on! 😉
