Facing Gold Army || Armorsmith to the Rescue...

Hello Splinterlands family

A nice week has started. So far it is going great. I hope it is going well for you as well! Let's begin this week's challenge post. If you are not aware Splinterlands arranges battle contest every week, where players share one of their battle with a specific monster/abilities. And Splinterlands supports those posts according to the efforts put on those posts. So this week's monster was ARMORSMITH.

My Battle Line-up

The match was of 32 mana, with the rule of Reverse Speed Monster with lowest speed attacks first and has the highest chance of evading attacks. Since it was a 32 mana game, I went with a dragon summoner Daria. It would give me some additional benefits of +1 Melee attacks on all friendly monsters. I planned to go with melee attacks and deal with the opponent in an easy manner. And since I wanted to use some dragon monsters, so it was the best choice for the time being.

Shieldbearer

I like this card a lot. Honestly, in some cases with a healing & armor backup, this card can change the game, as it did for me in this match. The prime reason for choosing this monster is the speed (reverse rule suits for it) and then comes the life, shield and +2 melee attack. And do not forget it's taunt ability. As I was thinking to go use it, so that it can take most of the hit from all the monsters and my other monsters can take out the opponent one by one. Overall it was perfect!

Manticore

Now just a few moments ag, I upgraded it to level 5. Now it has opened another +1 melee attack. It is one of the most used card that I often use in a battle. And it has saved me countless times from defeat. The Flying, Reach and thorn ability is a beast in the right match with the right ruleset.

Silvershield Assassin

When it comes to Life splinter, I always tend to keep in mind about this assassin. She is lethal and known her enemy very well. She creates damages very well and makes your win a little easier. Her double strike with poison makes it +6 and poison attack in a game very much lethal. And the reason I place it in 3rd place is that I was keeping in mind, even if both the 1st two monsters get killed it can take that position and keep the fight alive. And with the healing ability monster in the back, it still will have a better chance to continue the battle. And it did the job perfectly.

Armorsmith

Talk of the devil and here he is. I often try to use this monster where it really fits in. And this match was perfect for it. +2 armor made a huge difference in the match as you can see in the battle. Since I am upgrading my decks this is also in my update list. Nothing much to say but it was a perfect match in this battle which helped the armorsmith survive enough hits to make a difference in the match.

Divine Healer

Without a healer in a decent match, it does not feel complete. And Divine Healer granny is a charm in this splinter. With her +1 magic and tank heal my battle was much easier than I have expected. Honestly, all the tank healers always do a great job in turning the battle of a match. As you can see in the battle, she was a charm and made a huge impact on winning the match with the help of the tank heal.

Peacebringer

Since I was using, Shieldbearer on the front line I had no worry of a sneak attack from the opponent, so it was kind of security to use peacebringer on the last position. And since it has a +3 ranged attack it would also be very much useful if the opponent would have used any reflect monster on the 1st or 2nd position. As I do not like it when I am going with full magic and opponent comes up with reflect ability and I end up killing myself. So in this case it did not happen and as water splinter was not active so it was safe to assume all this up.

Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?

Well, you can see the match and you might enjoy watching it ;) And yup, it worked as I expected. While I probably will use Armorsmith in melee mayhem or even in a sneak rule as well. And of-course in situation like this as well, I would definitely give it a try.

So that sums up today's blog and I am trying to update my monsters one by one but there is so much going on right now and I am just getting started. Let's see how far can I go!
