Passport is a Gateway to International Travel

Hello and Everyone

A passport is a legal requirement for us to travel across the world. We can't apply for a visa and even if you're traveling to the country by working visa is available, a passport is also necessary to facilitate the travel. There is a ranking for the passport where some country's passports are quite strong, which means they do not need to apply for a visa and get it on arrival. It is good for them because their passport is strong but it doesn't mean that if the passport is not strong then you cannot travel because even with that you have the option to travel the world. The only difference would be that we need to follow some lengthy process to get the visa requirements completed and then we can travel.

The Indian passport is somewhere in the land in between where it is not too strong but it is also not too weak. It ranks at 85 as of now and the majority of countries can be traveled with an Indian passport easily because many of them provide a visa on arrival. A powerful passport means the citizens of those passport holders get either visa-free access to the country or they will get the visa on arrival and in both cases, they need not follow the visa process. It is convenient and surely a great feeling that those people are living in such a strong passport country.

I got this list on Google where you can see that these are the top countries as per the ranking in year 2024 and even with the top country it gets access to Vijay 194 countries which are going to be either visa-free or visa on arrival.

With the India passport ranking as per the Henley Passport Index 2024, India is ranked at the 82nd position, with access to 62 countries.

Indian passport stands in between where it is rank is 82 this year and with this, we get access to 62 countries with either visa-free or visa on arrival. I think it is not bad because visiting such countries which is sixty to count is not bad for Indians also have the opportunity to visit so many countries with an easy visa process.

I have been holding a passport since 2015 and it was issued 10 years of validity which means it will be due for a new role next year. I got it in the last quarter of 2015 hence more than one year remains for the renewal. I have known a few countries like Singapore and Indonesia a few times but all this was done before the pandemic. After the pandemic, I did not visit any country and I did not visit any country outside India because it was not safer from a health point of view. Now things are almost normal but because of my kid, I try to avoid travel. Maybe it will be the same for me in the next few years and then I will think about starting international travel again. Everything is fun but it requires a lot of planning and arrangements so I won't do this for the next couple of years and then we'll think about it.

I think we should travel to some of the countries which are good and we can learn about their culture this way so I have visited two countries in the Asia Pacific. Maybe after two years, I should be able to start my international journey again and for that reason, I will ensure that my passport is renewed on time. I also need to apply for the passport for my younger kid when I need to plan the travel and all these should be done once there is a plan.
