Claim SPS Airdrop if you have not done it yet- SPS Governance Proposal

Those who are active players in the game must have claimed their SPS airdrop by now and for a year it was like a daily activity for many of us. Even I used to claim every day and put it on stake so that it does not sit idle. This was a good time indeed as we were getting free tokens every day and growing the holding through the staking APR. It's a governance token and there have been multiple benefits for the holder on top of that many players made a good amount of money. The value was quite high in the beginning for SPS and it also went to almost $1.

I was getting almost 60 tokens in the beginning and it was a good amount but later on, the number dropped so I upgraded my assets and even purchased some DEC tokens to increase the daily drop. DC was the best asset to buy and increase the daily AirDrop. Even now with the SPS, we are getting another AirDrop in the form of GLX tokens. So we cannot say that holding SPS is not beneficial because it is and we are also getting many other benefits for holding the SPS.

There is an upcoming proposal by the team that they are going to end the SPS AirDrop claim so it is necessary for anyone who has not claimed it to take action as soon as possible. We will have time to claim this until July 26th, 2023, and as of now, 33 million unclaimed SPS tokens are there. This is a big amount and if this is not claimed by the due date which is 26th July then all the remaining tokens will be sent to DAO.

We are proposing to close the window for players to claim their SPS airdrop on July 26th, 2023, at noon ET / 16:00 UTC - one year after the airdrop ended - and that all unclaimed SPS from the airdrop is sent to the DAO at that time. According to our records, there is currently about 33M unclaimed SPS which, if still unclaimed by July 26th, would go to the DAO treasury if this proposal is approved.

This is a good proposal I believe because it is going to be two years approximately and if it's still the tokens are not claimed then there is no reason to keep them there instead send them back to DAO which can be a good idea. They have also given more than two months for anyone to claim and this claim process is quite easy so one can do it within a few minutes. I support the proposal because we have to take the cut-off date else there is no point keeping the option open to claim. If someone is not ready to claim then they should be and claim their airdropped SPS tokens.

This proposal is such a nice functionality given by the game to the community because this way we can propose whatever is good for the game and it will be implemented only if it is supported by the community. This is the meaning of decentralization when the power is given to the hands of the community and they are the ones who will be able to decide based on majority agreement. If the majority of the community agrees on something then it is worth implementing the change in the game and if not supported then anyways the proposal does not have any value. Earlier this option was only with the team but later on they provided it to the community so as of now anyone can create a proposal and seek community support in the form of voting.

Recently we have seen one of the proposals in which it was asked by the team to implement an anti-bot mechanism in the modern format and this is approved. Since this is approved so we should be able to see the changes in the next couple of months and I think this is good because this way more real players would be able to play instead of bots and ultimately gaming is more fun with humans. There will still be the option for the bots to play in the wild which I think is fair for the players as well as bots. There is a lot to come in the game and I'm sure this year 2023 would be a game changer for the splinter lands in terms of development and bringing multiple changes in the ecosystem.
