About Myself, My Journey and my Goals on Hive

Hey Hivers

Hive is such a nice platform and the best part here is the community that is supportive and I got the opportunity to learn from them. I have been here since 2019 and this post is more like a re-introduction of myself and my journey here. If you look closely then you can also see my name on my right-hand bangle and I like customized accessories with my name.

About me

I am Reeta and I am from India. I live in Delhi, the capital of India so if you are from India then most probably you know about the city even if you have not visited and many people from other countries also know about Delhi. I am a fashion designer by profession and post-graduate by qualification. Before covid lockdown, I had a regular job but this pandemic affected me and I lost the job. The company I was working with was winded up because of the pandemic and everyone working there was unemployed in a week. I was jobless for almost a year and during that time I was able to spend more time here reading, writing, and even playing splinterlands. The same company has restarted its business and now I work as a freelance as I don't want to go to work 6 days a week now. This gives me the freedom to work and I can decide my working hours. When I get time I try something new in the kitchen by watching recipe videos on YouTube.

My Journey Here

I joined this platform when it was steem in March 2019 so I have completed 4.5 years here now. I was not good at writing when I started because on Facebook it was never a need and even at my work this was not a requirement. I started using only actifit as it was an easy option for me where I could score some count through my fitness activities and there was no hard requirement to follow. I worked on my writing skills to improve and even spent over 6 months learning more about crypto and the market. During COVID-19 time I spent hours every day reading and learning more about crypto and the leofinance community has been very helpful for me. I wanted to learn more and in leofinance, I got to read a variety of content related to crypto.

I utilized lockdown time to learn about Hive, crypto, splinterlands, etc. Still, there is a lot for me to learn and I know that I can never learn enough but I try to learn as much as I can. Learning should be part of our daily life and I follow the same thought in my life.

I am listing down some articles that I have written here on this platform. If you go through this article then you will see how my life has changed over the years but one thing has remained common I am still a mother. Trust me, it's the best part and blessing in my life. Many women can relate to me what I am saying.

Precious Moments

I was at home for over a year because of pregnancy as the doctor advised me not to travel. Now my younger kid is turning 1 this month and the elder one is Nine. I like writing and crypto/splinterlands is my favorite topic so I like writing more about these. I started writing about my life again but still, I don't travel much. My life is still not normal and things have changed for me but I hope I get the same life back that I had before COVID. I was travelling almost every alternate weekend but looks like getting that life back is almost impossible.

Why I am still here on Hive?

I was new to crypto when I joined this platform but I heard about Bitcoin through social media. In India, people were calling it a Ponzi scheme, and media channels used to call it illegal and a scam. Surprisingly many people in India still think the same so we can't help them. Initially, I had thought that I would try for 5-6 months, and if I could understand it a bit then fine, and if not then leave it. Gradually I found it interesting and some people followed me. This was a boo to me that people are liking so I started putting more effort. So it became an area of interest for me that I never thought of before. I like playing splinterlands. My son and I played it together and during lockdown, this was the best of the time pass as there was no concept of energy and ECR was good.

I like this platform a lot where I get freedom to write whatever I like. It's like, I write, engage, play games, learn, connect, and build here at Hive and I don't know if there is another platform that offers this much of opportunities. I have taken the below snapshot from hivebuzz. I am sure that it shows the correct data on the chain. As per this-

  • I have published over 2.7k posts and over 5k comments in 4.5 years time. It means almost 1100+ comments in a year so if I go by day then roughly 3+ comments in a day considering 365 days in a year.
  • Most of my earned HP is still here in my wallet and I currently have 22,362 hive power. I also invested a lot in splinterlands before the SPS launch. I have done some power down a few times but it was just to buy assets in splinterlands. This was my splinterlands account value when the SPS airdrop was ongoing. This is a big amount for me but I did not sell anything because money-making was not the intention since the beginning.

image.png

Here is the snapshot with the latest value. If you see both then you can find that my BCX has grown by 5 times but the value is still very low. I have over 4k BCX and in the year 2021, I had only 821 so there is amazing growth in assets. I buy a bigger bunch of cards every 6 months.

I have also accumulated over 43k SPS and I plan to make it 60k so that I can play in the gold league with a higher reward multiplier.

My Long term plans

I joined Hive with long-term thoughts in the beginning and it's still the same. Here is my hive wallet snapshot and I have 22362 HP as of today 3 Sep 2023 which is a big achievement for me. It took me more than 4 years to be here and my goal is to make it 50k. I know that reaching there will take another 5 years for me but I am not in a hurry and this is what my long-term goal is.

image.png

I did not sell the hive when it was 3$ because of the long term. Some people say that it was my mistake but I don't agree with them. My reason for not selling is that- I am focused on my goal and if I start selling then I may lose the focus and that is what I don't want. It's OK if I miss the opportunity to sell high and buy back low. Sometimes it's good to lose smaller benefits for something big. My goal is clear and I don't want to lose my focus. Also when I look in wallets for many other people here and they have only a few thousand then I feel good because I am still on the same path that I had chosen in the beginning. 22k HP may not be a bigger amount for many but it's not a small amount for sure and you can see me growing my hive stake over the years.

I am working to build the below assets on Hive for the long term-

  • Hive Power (currently 22k+)
  • Leo Power (currently 7k+)
  • SPS Stake (currently 43k+)
  • Splinterlands Asset (Cards, Lands, Tokens, and various in-game assets)

Its Taj Mahal, the seventh wonders in the world and I am here with my friends

I believe in the hive and I am very much confident that it will do amazing in the long term. I have some other coins but still, my major holding is on hive power. I invested a good chunk of money on crypto from my savings and I can say that I replaced my gold investment with crypto and this is how my journey on this platform and in crypto has evolved over the years. I can keep on writing and this post is already quite long so I don't want to make the post even longer .

Thank you so much

Stay Safe
