Why Taking Notes Is Important When We Are Learning | I'm On My Way To Re-Learning Code !

Hello everyone, welcome back to Ramadhanight Hive Blog. I hope you guys are having a great day. Learning is something that could improve ourself, and taking notes for me is an important part of it, why ? Let's check it out !

1. To Makes Us Remember More

When we are write things on the paper, or type it on the keyboard, our brain are forced to think about what we are going to write/type, so you need to rethink about anything you want to write/type and this is what makes different than just receiving a lesson and not taking notes. I personally feels that I could remember the lesson more if I write them off, what about you ? Do you feel the same ?

2. Focus on Main Point

We know that our learning book were sooo thick, and so our teacher's explanation that could just soo long. Why ? because they tried to explain the main idea in every way they could to makes the students (that also having different way to learn) to understand that main idea. Taking notes is important to keep the main idea in the best way for you to learn, so could keep the key information for you on that notes in case you need them one day.

3. Easy Way To Recall The Lesson

We are human, and I'm sure most of us are ever forgot things that we learned few days/weeks ago, especially if that things is not used in our daily life or we never talked about it. And when we need them, we would be like, umm what was it ?

If we already taking notes, which stores important or key information, we could recall the lesson in a very easy way, because we don't have to open and read those thick book with soo many explanation that required more times and effort to find what you are looking for. As long as you keep all important things on the notes, you could simply take a look at it whenever you need it (But not when you are in exam)

On My Way To Re-Learn Coding

Well, I write those 3 important benefit of taking notes, because I'm on my way to re learn about the coding on sololearn (after more than 4 month of inactivity since I moved on new place), but found it difficult because I forgot so many things about the lesson, and I don't have a notes about it. I need to re-take the lesson again and now I won't makes the same mistake, because i might forget about it again and I won't waste my time to re-take the lesson over and over again 😅

Here is the screenshot of my current sololearn progress, with new ID, because now i do it on my pc, and i just logged in with different mail (i don't mind because i need to re-take the lesson anyway).

Here is the screenshot of my notes about the lessons. I write them off on the spreadsheet named learning, and write important information on there. I put 4 category on there: definition, example, function, and result of the function, because i think those 4 things is very important when i learn about coding. It is just the way i learn, and it might be different with they way you easily learn. I also loved the mind map, but because there is a function and result, i think this table is suitable way to write them off.

Thank you for kindly read my post, I hope this would help anybody that are on learning or having a plan to learn something to considering the importance of taking notes. And it doesn't have to be excactly like the example, instead create your own version that suit you most ! Do you have your own way to create a notes ? thank you, it was not a formal study, just myself doing self study using the learning apps, so i need more discipline that comes from myself 😂
