Road to Champion in Rocket League! 2v2 Gameplay and some Rocket Pass updates

Hello, gamers. I hope you are doing well.

I have been playing Rocket League a lot lately. The game concept is very simple, scoring goals while controlling a rocket-powered car but you can jump, double jump or dodge, fly using your boost and do all sorts of fancy mechanics using this simple concept. Those who never played it can think how can someone play it for hours, won't they get bored?

My reply would be this game has a great sense of progression, that wall jumps that you never really learned but now you do it every time, your first Aerial goal or your perfect 1-2-1 pass play that results in a goal will give immense satisfaction that the game will leave a mark on you and you will be hitting that 'Play again' button as soon as the match ends.

It is one of the most addictive games and I have spent a little over 1200 hours playing it but still feel like a total noob. I have reached diamond in 2v2 ranked at the start of the year and am still grinding in the diamond league. Feels like half of the player base is stuck in this league...lol

But I am very close to getting out of Diamond and moving to the next, Champion League.

I recorded my solo queueing gaming session tonight and want to show you. (Sorry about the video quality)

It was a fun session, that was very late in the night here in India so the matchmaking was pretty slow but it gave me time to work on my training sessions and improve my game. So, playing at this time is beneficial for me.

Diamond is very competitive for the most part, I started at Div II and remained in the same division after playing like 10 intense games. For the most part, I was playing okayish but there are a lot of things to improve on. My Aerial play is very sh*tty, the same goes for my shadow defence. I need to learn how to aerial properly but my lazy ass not allowing me to...lol. Training is hard but playing is fun.

There was one player who kept getting matched in the games, he was in the opposite team for two matches (won one game each) and then when we got paired together we created a party and played three games in total. Well, it was a mixed result, we won the first match but got unlucky in the next and lost with one goal difference. But we got thrashed in the last game. It was getting late so I had to go but he asked for my Instagram which is a little odd generally players ask for discords but whatever, I gave him my Instagram account so we can play next time too. He seemed like a nice guy.

Rocket Pass Update

Rocket League's season 12 started on September 6 and will end on Dec 6th, 2023. I had collected enough credits to buy myself a rocket pass for this season and the rewards are nice.

I crossed tier 110 today which I did fairly quickly, tells you how much I played this game since the start of the season. One of the items that I was looking forward to getting from the rocket pass was a new goal explosion. I have been using an old goal explosion, I don't even remember in which year I got that but it is ancient for sure. Scored more than 7K goals with that explosion, that's insane!!

Now that I have a new explosion, there are other items too. Most notably some cool wheels and a new car body. I prefer the Octane which is the first car you get in this game and I am very comfortable with it now.

• You played well, but your teammate sucks!
• You didn't lose, server was laggy!
• Only if you had a better monitor and graphics card!
• Your little brother was playing the match!
• They were smurfs!
• You didn't sleep for two days straight!
• And the most important one: They were Hacking!
