Hunting in the wilderness of Siberia | theHunter: Call of the Wild Gameplay

Hello, gamers. Welcome back to my blog.

I have been away from theHunter: Call of the Wild, especially from Medved Tiaga, a harsh and fronzen landscape inspired by the Siberian wilderness. I hunted in Savanna and Silver Ridge peaks a lot so it was time for a change in scenery and it has been long since I got attacked by a pack of wolves too, so it was worth booting up this map.

The first thing I did was restocked on supplies like first aid kits and some cookies for my dog, Sheru! I had more than 125K in cash and spent 25K on these two things only, I am not going to run out of them soon. I had to be conservative in spending my cash at first but now I can spend it on less important things like tents and blinds.

The first thing I did was give Sheru some cookies. Hope you are happy now, @bemier.

I planned to do some side missions in this session and the first one was to go and find a moose and hunt it down completing all the harvest checks.

It was a cloudy afternoon and I love to walk in this fronzen map, everything is white and looks amazing!

I knew it was Moose's drinking time and they can be found near the frozen lakes trying to drink water and there was a big lake just next to the outpost where I was standing. It didn't take me long to reach that lake.

Instead of a Moose I found a small group of Reindeers, they were trying to come towards the lake but were skittish and were alerted of my presence. I didn't want to take a shot and risk alerting a Moose. I had to ignore them for the time being and focus back on finding a Moose.

And I got luck when I saw a big male Moose standing in the long reeds just on the outside edge of the lake.

I was too close to him and almost spooked him. Fortunately, I was crouching and walking slowly at that point else it would have been alerted and ran away. I could have used my 7 mm rifle but decided to use the silent bow which doesn't spook all the other animals close to the lake. I was still hearing some Reindeer calls so I didn't want them to get spooked.

For an accurate shot with a bow one must get closer and I did the same, keeping an eye on my prey. Once, I was close enough, I took the shot, aiming at the lungs, as always.

It almost weighed half a ton and gave me an easy silver trophy. I thought it could be a gold but did not make it. The arrow pierced right through both the lungs and come out from the other side. This bow has one of the best penetration power in the game.

This completed my objective and the current side mission. This carcass will be used for some research.

Another similar mission I got was from Dmitri Pushkin, who is trying to contain the spread of anthrax in the area. There was an Anthrax outbreak that even took a life of a team mate earlier and it spread from contaminated reindeer. And sadly, we must cull reindeer to prevent further anthrax spread.

For this mission we had to travel to 'Zabolochennye Lands' which was easy as I had an outpost unlocked in that area. So, I used the quick travel option to reach there and now I had to harvest a Reindeer.

I was not sure if it was their drinking time but I saw some near lake earlier so it must be and going to a water source is always good even if you don't find the animals there will be some tracks which can you can follow. I saw some tracks near a lake and followed them for a while with my Sheru.

Both of us were getting bored just walking and not finding anything until we saw a Moose standing in the middle of a frozen lake, all alone and still, almost lifeless.

Just further south from there was a Reindeer resting too. It was a big male and this time we didn't need to have a good shot, no need to pass all the harvest checks.

There were some trees and bushes that were blocking my view and I really didn't want to hit a tree and risk losing this one. I got closer until it got alerted and even though I had a bad angle, I took the shot with my rifle. I knew that a good enough shot with the powerful 7mm rifle is enough to bring it down, no matter if it was a non vital organ.

I aimed at the vertebrae but barely missed it and went over it. Luckily, the bullet hit the upper neck which was in line with the bullet else it would be a complete miss. It also damaged the skull which made me lose the trophy because the trophy organ was destroyed.

But at least I completed the mission. Now it was time for the last mission for today.

Scenic Weather #1 - This is a different type of mission, in this one, I am working for a meteorologist who wanted me to go to an old fishing village, Chekurovka and take a picture so she can keep track of the snowfall.

No hunting in this one, but it seemed like I spoke too soon and encountered a wolf pack on my way to the village.

I was riding an ATV over a frozen river which is like a highway in this barren wasteland. The amount of noise it makes spooks everything and I didn't expect to find animals on my way. But a pack of wolves, just crossed the river in front of me and there must be atleast 7-8 of them. I stopped and waited for them to pass, they sometimes come and attack you but this time they were too spooked by the loud noise and just try to run away.

A couple of them were left behind who seemed to be the slowest and I took them out quite easily. They were moving which made it harder to aim at the vital organs like Liver or Lungs. But at least I got two from the pack. They have killed me a few times before so this was my revenge!

One of them was good enough to be a gold but sadly, I missed the liver by a few inches.

I continued my journey and reached the abandoned fishing village and took some pictures which completed this easy mission.

This marked the end of an interesting hunting session. This time I managed to complete a few side missions and took my revenge from wolves! It was a successful session and I ended it by giving another cookie to my Sheru.

Thanks for reading...

Until next hunt...

This game reminds me of some animated movie having sibera in its name but can't remember it exactly.
Those graphics are really cool
