Defeating the Massive Moss Charger in Greenpath| Hollow Knight Gameplay

In my previous post on Hollow Knight, I shared my experience of navigating through the crystal peaks and unlocking a cool new movement ability the crystal heart, which is a super dash powered by crystal power. The bugs here have absorbed some of the crystal energy and developed various new attack types. I recently defeated a Crystal Guardian who shoots a laser beam at you. I defeated it and he ran away, maybe he will be back with more powerful attacks...lol

I rested on the bench and got ready to move on, I still had to find my shade to complete my soul vessel and not lose the Geo I collect if I die. It wasn't too difficult to find and defeat it. Once you kill it you get your lost Geo back and your soul vessel repairs too... so we can collect more souls.

I used my new super-dash ability to pass through the section of the crushing wall. It was the section where I died twice but now I have this ability, it wasn't too difficult.

And on the other side of that challenging section was a trapped grub which I saved by breaking the glass vessel.

Not only that, I found some treasure chests full of Geos as well. I was enjoying having this super cool ability. Now those sections which were not impossible to cross were just too easy with this ability.

I reached at the edge of the Dirtmouth and saw an elevator waiting there. If you hop in that elevator it will lead you down to the town. Well, scaling these mighty crystal peaks was a success I guess. I mean, getting a cool new ability is all we went there for, maybe there are still some secrets lurking there but I will not go back there until I have been to other places where this new ability is going to open so many previously unreachable paths.

I paid a visit to Confessor Jiji and I still don't understand what she does. Every time I go to her she just replies "You have no lingering regrets and come back when you have". What regrets is she talking about!? But I love that room, with all those glowing candles and lights, it is one of the best rooms in the game.

I was heading to the Forgotten Crossroads to collect my rewards for saving a few more grubs on my journey. Every time I save 2-3 grubs I come back to the Grub Father's room to see what items he would give me. I think he gave me a charm and a pale ore. Those were rare items. I was hoping for more rare items.

All he gave me were more Geo and a rancid egg. I am not sure what I can do with those rancid eggs as well. I can't even sell them to the collector. I have got 6 eggs in total now.

I decided to go to Greenpath, I had been there a long time ago and since then I have got a couple of new abilities, so let's see if I can unlock more parts of the map.

Looking at the map, it seems like there are so many places yet to be explored. Some were unreachable, some had a big pool of acid or water stopping us from going there.

I decided to go to the top left corner of the map where I remember seeing a big lake. I was unable to cross it but now I had the super dash ability and it was worth a try.

I reached the lake of Unn, it was guarded by a bug and I had to fight and defeat it. I used to fear them but now I have better nails and mechanics so I can easily kill them without worrying too much.

I dashed over the lake but was eventually stopped by a big wall. There was no way around the way, the only path was going under the wall where there was just a little gap but you can't cross it without touching the acidic pool.

Well, it was a failure and I expected a new area beyond that point. But I still had more places to explore in Greenpath. One such place is filled with thorns and a few platforms where you can stand.

I tried crossing it but it was very tough, those thorns on the top of the wall were making it hard to go to the other side. I am not sure how one could cross this. Maybe if I have infinite lives, the worst part is if you take damage, you have to start at the starting platform.

I made it to the other side of the wall but then there were other similar walls and I was not crossing it consistently and I didn't want to die doing this challenging platforming section. So, I had to give up eventually and look for more places where I could use my new ability to some advantage.

One of the places that I could use my dash ability was a place that was too far for me to simply jump and reach but the dash was perfect for it. There was an item glowing on the floor. It was the Hallownest seal and they sell at good prices. At last, there was something to make my day bright after two unsuccessful attempts to see new places.

I was attacked by a massive moss charger. This was much bigger than the regular ones and it could also jump over you, unlike the regular ones which just go along the floor. And it doesn't get scared away if you strike it with a nail so you have to doge and be quick with your attacks.

More secrets will be unleashed in the further sessions. We started in Crystal Peaks, made our way back to Dirtmouth and then Forgotten Crossroads where we collected our reward for saving some grubs we went to Greenpath and found the hallownest seal and defeated a massive moss charger. It was a nice session overall. I am having a lot of fun with Hollow Knight and will recommend it to every gamer even if they are not fans of Metroidvania. This game will make you one!
