Not All Heroes Wear Capes .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 149

I had a very interesting chat with @livinguktaiwan in a Discord chat about different aspects of HIVE, mainly about witness voting, but also about other things contributing to the chain in different aspects... The first association was creating useful tools and dApps for HIVE, but also contributing by adding value to the chain, running different projects, and tokens that can also add value (unfortunately, sometimes they are extracting), etc.

How can you measure how much someone did to the chain? For example, by comparing the value of a token BEFORE creating a dApp, and AFTER? By the number of people who were onboarded to the chain in 1 month? Or, by the number of active people that we have at the end of the exhausting bear market? You can do that, and those metrics could give you some important information on what you did right or wrong, but... Is it all about the numbers?

As an empath, I get offended when someone ignores what HIVE is, pretending that we are all just numbers... HIVE is a social network, created with the idea of being decentralized, with the idea that you OWN your content, and with the idea of freedom of speech... Yeah, yeah, I know what some of you will say, that's just past rhetoric and a bunch of corny phrases... Some will say that nobody cares about those things, it's just important that we are getting money for creating content... And maybe they are right... It isn't important until it becomes to be...

You are not thinking about the freedom of speech if you have certain rights, or if you have an illusion of having them... But, when you don't have, you DO CARE about those things... The problem is that it's hard to build that in a day, you have to flourish and grow that day by day, especially when YOU CAN, in days when you do (still) have rights...

It's like investing in crypto (or in any other assets)... You don't buy assets when the prices skyrocketed and you don't have enough money to buy... You buy them when they are cheap, when you can afford them, when "nobody cares" about them...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

I digressed from the topic... The point of all this is that we can't afford to get back into what we were, but we have to go forward, what we want to be... Yes, Hive witnesses are important for HIVE... Yes, app developers are important for creating tools... But, YOU are also important, with the work that you do!! Maybe you are inspiring others to be better every single day... Maybe you upvote underrated authors, helping them to put food on the table,... Maybe those underrated authors are engaging with their real-life friends, talking about this awesome place, and giving someone else hope for a better future... Snowball effect!

You are changing lives! Isn't that at least as important as running a node, or creating a dApp? Don't underestimate your work... Not everyone can do everything, but everyone can add a small puzzle piece to the board...

Not all HIVE heroes are on top of the Hive Witness rankings, and not all hard-working Hivians are getting help from the DHF proposal system... There are many Hivians, many heroes without the cape that are working in their communities, engaging with others, helping each other in hard times, supporting people in need... There are no monetary numbers connected to them, but there are many bonds and connection built from their work... That is priceless...

Even with these WORKERBEE report posts, I bet that some of you learned something new... I know that many people didn't have an idea about the existence of these two tokens (actually, not just two as I write about the bonus tokens too), or for what they are used... But with these reports, very often people ask questions in the comment section about them, learning something new... That's another grain of sand added as value to someone...

Back to the Workerbeee report numbers!

It was a very quiet week around the pool... We had only one transaction where an existing member of the pool added 1 delegation to it... Thanks for your trust!

In the last 7 days, we mined 114 BEE tokens in total!!!

This POOL doesn't have fees and you get up to 20% MORE by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?
Two weeks ago, in the WB Pool report post, I was writing about the SPS token pump and asked you guys if you would like to see the SPS tokens as bonus tokens... Well, here we are... Today's bonus token is an SPS token from the Splinterlands! I know that many of you are playing the game and will appreciate it, and the rest, there is enough liquidity to sell your bonus tokens on the markets without any problems... Some people will be happy to grab them... 🙂

There will be distributed 100 SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

WorkerbeePHPool03.png

As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... There will be distributed 114 BEE tokens and 100 SPS tokens as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 9.387%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 11.210%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week you will get the portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

All payments will be made after publishing this post...

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section!

You are delivering more than just a worker bee report, it is great to hear your thoughts and certainly something to think about.

There are many ways to create value on Hive and it is always good to meet Hivians doing a great job in this regard.

Thank you very much!

There are so many cool Hivians that are doing great stuff... It's always the "underground" work that does the most impact...

This is very true and also an underrepresented part of the chain. I think the focus is always on who has the biggest number, may it be authors witnesses proposals, and that is simply human nature. A lot of work and a lot of projects go on behind the scenes that many aren't aware of, but it is all just as important.

It is always like that... I hate hearing "people in charge" saying things like... I have built this, I did that to make your life better, while in reality, those things are done with taxpayers' money, by people working on that for years and years...

A lot of work and a lot of projects go on behind the scenes that many aren't aware of, but it is all just as important.

I 100% agree with that! And it's always a nice feeling to find those projects and show appreciation for their existence!

I think those who are always active here even on the difficult days of the blockchain as well as the HIVE price have done much to the blockchain.

Exactly! Those people are the "silent heroes" of this chain! And equally important as any other big whale, witness, or dApp developer!

I agree with you in that Hive is more than just numbers, the special aspect pr fact I see is that before a token a community, that is not perfect, that has freedom of speesh, with freedom come chaos, this community stays together no matter the type of market, some will come and see this on the project, others will go when market crash again, Hive is not something I expect to triple its value in weeks although it can, I expect to grow and build on it if possible, long term goals ✌️

To be honest, I wouldn't say that it couldn't triple its current value, but if it goes over that, it would be a miracle... :) But, for me, that's irrelevant as I feel the same as you... The most important is that we try to "preserve" the values of HIVE, on which it was built!

Not going over $1 would not be ideal, if so the some how would make more sense to stay on HBD but eventually Hive price will stay over $1 once more ppl see it for what it is instead of just making $$ with content but for that real normies have to come, those who dont want to invest or make money out of Hive but to control their data without having to be worry of been suspended/deleted/censor

Bro,

We call is statistics in the field of commerce, which is famous for number crunching, and it is equally important for the growth of the project, without knowing about the project ins and outs you cannot measure the value it is delivering to its customers.

In Hive, the value addition is coming from members, the more the merrier as they can move the project in a direction that is proposed and approved.

Awesome thoughts and very insightful article.

After more than 4 years on this chain, I saw dozens and dozens of examples of how HIVE changed lives... I would take the freedom to say that it changed mine, too... But, for some Hivians in South America or Africa, it literally saved lives! You can't measure that... It's just amazing!

Numbers are important, but people behind the numbers are crucial for success...

Thank you for your kind words!

Yes, it is true as Hive has provided so many opportunities to its users in many different ways. It is a free to use platform with lots of features and rewards, it just needs to explore to its full functionality yet.

Indeed it's obviously people behind it, but more numbers means more community growth. Thanks bro !LUV

Don't underestimate your work... Not everyone can do everything, but everyone can add a small puzzle piece to the board...

Every hive needs everything from the queen bee to the last of the workers to function. 😊

Indeed... Maybe we have too many (drama) queen bees? 😃 Just kidding...
It's important that we have "diversified" functions... Some are doing onboarding, others are doing marketing, some are doing contests, others educating, etc... Only when we are doing what we do the best, do we have a chance to make things better!

The truth of the matter is a lot of people might not actually know or see the importance of hive now because it is not actually public. People will want to tend to value what is more public

It's hard to figure out or measure witnesses. I would prefer to know more about why the witnesses do for the variables they control but I don't think many people know.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/SPS tokens.

What all witnesses have in common is that they have an HIVE blockchain running on their machine, helping out in decentralizing the infrastructure and making the whole chain more stable and robust... All the rest is different from one to another... Some of them are programmers, others are project owners, some are completely inactive, some are community leaders, etc...

Adding a small puzzle piece to the board is truly the work of everyone. The little things matter and that’s why I sometimes say that only the whales on here are not enough to make Hive go far
It is a collective work

It is a collective work... In the end, this network isn't named HIVE just by accident!

The project is going very well and is going very well with its users and we will see its team working very hard and may see its price go up in no time.

That's another post I can resonate with. Everyone can find a good place on Hive to be useful (even without realizing it, sometimes). From simple users to middle-class stakeholders, from artists to developers, from infrastructure providers and block producers to testers, from HBD users in the real economy to Hivers meeting in real life.

Well said, my friend! If you don't like one community, you go to another... If you don't like that either, you create yours... The same goes for tribes, for games... THe thing that I like the most in crypto, in general, is the choice! That's something that was always pushed on us, and here, you can pick your "game"!
