New Goals Creation! .:. #MyHiveGoals 2024
I didn't think it would be hard to create new goals for 2024, but I had a hard time creating them! What's even worse is that I was actively thinking about it for the last couple of weeks and when you come to the end of the post, you will say... "You were thinking for weeks to get to ONLY 3 goals?!" 😃 Well, yes... 😃
The problem is with experience combined with expectations... When you are longer and longer time in the cryptocurrency world you are raising the bar for your future investments... You probably invested in many tokens that went to (almost) zero, and you are more cautious... If you had some good tokens, maybe you are in the positive, or maybe you don't care about the numbers and just having fun with tokens... In any case, I'm that person who implements experience in the next actions/investments...

HIVE isn't as big as you think... When you find people who are actively participating in the ecosystem by creating different games, projects, and tokens, you realize that maybe only 10-20 people are involved in that... It's not that hard to research 20 people and see from where they are coming, what their reason for running a project is, or what are their views on HIVE... Not rarely, you have the same person running more than 1 project, so you kind of know in what direction will go in the future project... People like to stick to the patterns, and if they work (for them), they repeat them...
On the other side, occasionally, we see new people coming into space creating their first project... In that case, you have a blank canvas which is "hard to read" and investment risks are much bigger, but on the other side, the ideas that those people bring are fresh, and innovative, which is always nice to see!
Now that we have 2 groups of potential investments, it is easier to pick good goals for 2024, isn't it? Nope... 😃 From my view, I would rather invest in a new project by a "new person", than go into the "old guys" and their project... It's nothing personal, but a simple look at Hive-Engine tokens will be enough to see that most tokens are going in one direction, or they are heavily FOMOed and hyped... Of course, there are exceptions... So, what did I pick?
Hive Power
There is a huge expectation, by the majority, that crypto (and HIVE) will go up in value in 2024... While I have also a similar expectation, that doesn't mean that it will happen... Because of that expectation, many people are already planning profit-taking (myself included) in 2024 and as a result of that, not many people are adding their HivePower to the #MyHiveGoals posts... To be honest, I had an idea to add the HBD goal for this year because of the same reason... Moving some HIVE into HBD to take profits, which will probably happen, but not by powering down my Hive Power... I don't have any plans to power down in 2024 (and probably in the future either)...
But, how will you take profits, ph1102? I watched a lot of interviews with Michael Saylor and in one of them, he said that he would never sell his Bitcoin! When you know that you can earn HIVE by using Hive Power, the question is how he is "using" his BTC to "earn" money... Well, he has different "products" backed by his BTC stash!! So, my main idea is to have a similar thing with my HivePower and use it as a backup for "raising" money in other places... You can use it for curation, you can delegate to other projects, you can use it to build your brand, or you can help out with your project...
So, in a year when everyone will focus on HBD and taking profits, I will try to ignore the noise and continue building my Hive Power... I will not push as hard as I did in 2023, but I will try to reach 100K HivePower at the end of 2024! I will take some profits selling other tokens in the Hive ecosystem and with the right timing, I hope that it will be enough profits taken...
Liotes Diesel Pool
The "second goal" to pick was the hardest one... Because of all that I wrote at the beginning of the post, I have huge trust issues with the Hive-Engine tokens... As I'm a co-owner of the project that has tokens on H-E, I know that it is not a "perfect platform" and it has its pros and cons...
Just the fact that I have TRUST issues is already a problem... Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are invented exactly because of that... To avoid "trust issues" as everything is (should be!) coded, and you don't have to trust a person, but the code... Unfortunately, token creators on Hive Engine have more power over a token than they should have... I mean, you have to create a token at the beginning, but the possibility of changing the token parameters, minting additional tokens, inflating supply, etc. shouldn't be possible in a later stage... As transactions are transparent, everyone can see when these things happen, and they happened, a lot of times...
Because of all that, I couldn't find a token in the Hive ecosystem that I could say that I "see at the end of 2024"... Except one... The token that is connected to Liotes, the project that I run along with @achim03... I could come to the temptation to do some crazy things like some other token creators, but the probabilities are much lower that I (or Achim) will do that...
Because of all this, I will try to grow my liquidity in the SWAP.HIVE:LEN diesel pool and double my current position! At the moment, that pool doesn't have additional rewards except for trading fees, but growing my "stake" in it will be beneficial for many reasons... One reason is that I will grow my LEN holdings and I believe that token value will go up (it is setup to work like that)... Second reason is that bigger liquidity in that pool is a guarantee of price stability and lower volatility... That will help not just the token, but also all token holders and those who want to buy or sell a bigger quantity of tokens!
Disclaimer. We didn't (manually) mint any LEN tokens from the creation of the project and we don't plan to do that ever! All tokens that are circulating are created by staked miners (LENM tokens) and it will continue to be like that... So, my current holdings are tokens that my staked miners "earned" as anyone else can do too... Even the LEN tokens that you can see as rewards in the other diesel pool (LEN:LENM) are bought from the market and added as rewards! Because of all that, we as tokens owners have the same reasons to work on a token value as any other investors!
Gaming Goals - RISING STAR CARDS!
This year, I have decided to have only one gaming goal and it will be similar to my last year's goal... I will try to collect 30K Rising Star cards until the end of 2024, which is almost double of my current number... Last year, I was trying to reach my goal ONLY by opening packs, but this year, I will probably BUY some (older) cards from the market too... Because of that, I will maybe raise this goal throughout the year... As it is just a game, I don't really find this goal as something that I have to worry about... So, I will have a relaxed and flexible view of it...
Finishing goals from 2023
Last year I reached all goals but one... I was short for 455 LEO tokens and I failed to reach my LEO Power goal... Like I said in my last #MyHiveGoals report, I have continued with accumulating tokens... The price went down a bit, I used that opportunity and I bought the rest of the tokens to reach my goal! So, just one week into the new year, I have reached that remaining goal from last year!

The idea was to stay focused on just a few main tokens... When I check my previous goals, there is a tendency to have fewer and fewer tokens in #MyHiveGoals every year... 😃
But, I do have some other tokens that I'm accumulating, but I didn't want to lose the MAIN focus... Some of them are CTPSB, AWESOME, ALIVE tokens in the dieselpool, SPS, GLX, etc.
Just a few as the main focus makes it very simple, and you get better results one those.

And my HBD goal is accumulating 1000. After that, I will focus on increasing HP much more, such as conveeting some of HBD interest payouts to HIVE.
Make a plan and try to not mix TIMES when you are accumulating one and when another... When Hive is up, accumulate HBD, when HIVE is down, accumulate HIVE :)
If I look around the Hive ecosystem, I would say that having Hive Power is the best option to stack. Projects and people are always in need of it, but alas it is often delegated out for some other token of lesser value or some short term benefits which turn into long term negatives in the end.
If looking at Hive Engine projects, there are also not many that are good and LEN would be one of my top choices where the concept of token value is understood and cannot be magically created from nothing.
An interesting and exciting year awaits and I look forward to seeing you reach your goals.

We are almost at the same "imaginary" HIVE price for re-visiting our goal and taking profits... 😃 Until that point, I see no purpose in wasting time stressing about the price, or about taking out the profits...

I really appreciate hearing your thoughts on Hive, layer-2 tokens, and the people that run the various projects! I would say that it is very educational for me! I had a similar view a few years ago and I have it now for some other tokens... If the stake isn't enough, there is no meaning to take it out from it... Especially if you have created YOUR plan until when you will grow your stake and the time when you plan to take profits... It's crucial to have a plan for both!

I love the idea to look Hive power as a means of raising funds or using as an income source rather than looking to take profits from it. I personally look at my Hive power the same way.
Imagine the situation where Elon Musk spends all his money in the casino and has ZERO on his balance sheet... Would he still have the same respect/power as other billionaires? Would people continue to follow him, listen to him, etc?
I mean, that's a radical comparison, but the point is very similar... 😃

Hehehehe... There is no "dark reason" behind it... I think that I have enough LEO exposure and I would like to invest my crypto in other tokens more... I was following the LEO guys from the very beginning and with all the resources that they have, the token should perform much better than it did... At this moment, I think that some other "horses" are running faster... Also, I see movements back to Web 2.0 and I don't want to go back there...

Maybe you can check my account and give your opinion on what I should do. During the HHH event, I mentioned that I wanted to develop and stake my HP.
However, I'm not sure if it's the best path for me since I'm still learning about how to gain on this platform.
You can't go wrong if you grow your HivePower! Especially if you want to grow your account, influence, and your "friends base" here on HIVE...
But, what I listed in the post is exactly what it says, MY Hive goals... I suppose that you should "find" YOURS... IMO, for every Hivian, growing HivePower should be one of the goals, but the rest is on you...
As I can see, you are doing nice on Hive... I suppose that you are maybe worried about your post rewards, but you shouldn't worry about it... Keep with creating and engaging and it will come... Consistency is the key and your posts will be better and better as you are doing them day by day...
I think those are some pretty good goals and I think it's good to focus on your project. I don't really bother with the diesel pool but I think the rewards are better or comparable to staking the LENM tokens.
In the case of LENM, the rewards in the dieselpool (LEN:LENM) are almost the same as LENM staking rewards... I suppose that people follow the APR and invest where it is better, so in that way, it is always in balance with each other...
These are interesting goals that you set for yourself. I think it's a good strategy to keep the focus on a limited number of goals and focus the energy on them. I started with many goals then settled with one or two and I believe I'm much more efficient like that. It's nice to see your liq pool goals ;-)
I made the same mistake when I was "too diversified" and less focused... I think it's better to keep focus on 2-3 goals max...

I have the same idea in my mind, but I don't want to rush to execute it... IMO, at this moment, HIVE is heavily undervalued and it would be pitty to not use that HBD to get more HIVE... I hope that we will see better days in the next month, which should be a better time to accumulate HBD...
Yes as both hive and HBD have it's own values, i don't know much about the charts but let's see how it's next month.

My 2024 goals for Hive is just simply to provide value to readers and to grow my HP at the same time. Maybe if I can hit 500 hive power at the end of the year.

Hehe I haven't really had any goals on Hive because I think it's too stressful to set one, because I will never know whether my posts will get voted or not. I prefer to just do my part, build my account and network, post interesting stuff, and not worry about things that are out of my control. :)
I had a similar thinking 2-3 years ago when I had a number of followers as a goal... That was completely OUT of my control and I failed that goal... But, I wouldn't say the same for HivePower goal, as it contains my future curation rewards (predictable number), author rewards (unpredictable, but you can find a close estimate), and future HIVE purchases (partly predictable)... So, it's not that much "out of our control"...
But, I do understand your point... Someone likes additional pressure, someone likes easy and relaxed ride... ;)
I like your second goal! Like any business owner, focusing on your own business makes the most sense!
HP is always a great choice. I just took the long road to see how the two compare in a few years.
Your RS goal makes sense to me too. You are up there in a competitive position and you defend it.
That second goal was the one that I added in the last minutes... 😃 When, it should be among the goals from a long time ago... It was a bit "stupid" to add it there as people think that as an owner, we can print tokens, and inflate our bags... We can do that (as any other H-E token owners), but we will not do it ever... So, when we out that side, we (@achim03 and I) are like administrators of the project that work on it to bring value to the token that we hold, and everyone else... That's how it should be for every project and we will stick to that point of view...
I like that perspective - project owners paid a little bit for their time, but mostly building their stake like everyone else and being incentivized to grow the project so that everyone benefits, including themselves.
Tbh, because of that perspective, I'm against some of the proposals from the DHF... If you are getting funds for free, you don't appreciate the work and you are less motivated to make your project successful... It is the lack of a very powerful incentive that pushes you to be better...
It's like buying a medal in the store, or winning a medal by running a complete marathon...
I have a nuanced opinion here. The type of project funded this way matters and the amount it receives. For example, if a team of developers creates great quality open source code that can be (and is) integrated into various projects on Hive, or the core code, or if it funds critical infrastructure for Hive that isn't meant to be funded as a paid service, then I believe it's an ok way to access the DHF. If it's just a project like others, closed source, or not necessarily beneficial to the entire ecosystem, probably not.
Where I agree completely is that there isn't much incentive to finish a project for which you are paid "by the hour" and there isn't a strict accountability.
Yeah, we do get each other... That's why I said "some projects", as blockchain-core developments has to receive some funds as they are mostly non-profitable...
We (at Liotes) are thinking about creating a project which should be useful for Hive, but we are not coders and we would need initial investment to hire coders... So, there is an idea to create a proposal for getting funds to pay coders, but it would be for a limited time, as the long-term idea is to create a self-sustainable project... IMO, DHF could be a great "incubation" fund for projects that need an "initial push", but not milking the system forever...
Anyways... Sorry for rambling... 😃
I'm not sure that I can predict my growth in the whole year, because this is my first year on Hive (I was here for the whole of 2023, but I didn't understand how Hive works), so that I could calculate my goal for Hive power in 2024 .
I only know that I will try to publish minimum one post every day (depending on free time, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer) and that I will transfer all Hive to Hive Power.
I'm currently transferring all HBD to Hive and putting them in HP. so how far can i go...
And in 2024 I will pay some attention to other projects on Hive... I saw what you wrote about, just to find time...
All the best in 2024, that everyone reaches goals...

Better to take your prediction with the game of numbers as a goal, at 3K, than mine at 5K, so that later I have to invest more $ to catch up with the plan.
I decided that in 2024 I will upgrade my HP only from Hive from rewards and votes, not to buy for cash... I will see where I am in six months.
I believe this is the right time to actually stack more hive and hold for the future more and more because it's coming nightly this year
100K Hive power for 2024 is a great goal and achievable too I reckon, so best of luck with that. I am slowly improving my Hive Power too, next stop 14K Hive Power, but I am not putting my extra earned HBD in there anymore, instead I am banking it all for 20% return and if we get a massive price surge at some stage I might use the 3 days to liquidate that, we'll see...

I'm doing something similar, but seeing HIVE around 33 cents is the offer that is hard to reject... I have some buy HIVE orders opened with my HBD, but the idea is similar to yours... take some profits into HBD and pull out when bad days come back again... :)
