Debates Are Valuable! .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout Ep.05 (2023-11-22: Live Show recording)

(Edited)

Here we are with another recording from the last #HHHLive show that was held in the Ecency Discord voice chat on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. We didn't beat the previous week's record number of participants, but we did beat the record in time spent in the show (and after the show)!!! The topic was very interesting for the audience and we had a huge discussion in the chat channel during the show! It was great to see people caring about curation and other Hivians...

As the topic was huge, and people were sharing their views in the chat and in voice, we didn't manage to cover all the parts that I stated in the announcement post... But, I would say that what we did cover, was deep into the topics and discussed them from different angles! That's why the result was even better than expected!

I'm glad that some of you shared your invitation before the show on Ecency Waves, which helped with additional exposure!

And it was nice to see positive feedback AFTER the show from some of the participants! Check out the post from @willythewhale!

Thank you guys for your kind words! I'm happy to see that you find a lot of value in the show by all participants! As it was so busy in the chat and in voice, there was a huge amount of valuable info all around!

As every time in these recap posts, I will share the recording of the show and not go deep into the topics as you have it all! In just a few short lines we went through:

  • Split between author and curation rewards
  • Personal story/mistakes with chasing APR at the beginning
  • Importance of upvoting others, comments that add value to you
  • @felixxx jumped in voice to share his "controversial" thoughts 😃, about curation projects, etc. content relevancy
  • Definition of a quality post (that was a huge topic that we were jumping in and out of)
  • Curating others with or without the stake?
  • Huge discussion about curation and curation projects
  • People sharing their upvoting/curating routines...
  • and much much more...

We had a "short" after party which wasn't recorded and I'm planning to continue doing that in the future too... So, if you want exclusive content, you have to come and participate in the live show! 😃

Check out the video below!

In the end, I would like to thank everyone who took part in the show and made it so great! This time we had on the show: @achim03, @felixxx, @foxkoit, @incublus, @melinda010100, @mypathtofire, @palomap3, @travoved, @wanderingmoon, @willythewhale, and @pravesh0!

We enjoyed the company of @mayramalu, but for a short time and I hope that we will see her in the next show for the whole show! (Sorry for muting you, but I was distracted by background noises that were coming from your mic... It wasn't personal and you could listen to the show with others and talk if you wanted...)

In total, 13 people joined the fun! Thanks, everyone!!!

Thank you guys and girls! As a sign of appreciation, I will send some LEN tokens to all participants of the live show! You can pair them with LENM tokens, add liquidity to the diesel pool, and earn rewards! If you want to learn more about the project behind it, check out the @liotes account or visit the Liotes website... Of course, if you are not interested in it, you can sell tokens on the Hive-Engine market...

To encourage more people to come on the mic, I have sent an additional 100 Ecency POINTS to people who shared their thoughts in voice with us (@felixxx and @incublus)! We have an additional incentive for speaking in voice for the next time, provided by the courtesy of @felixx! More about that in the next announcement post!

Special thanks goes to @melinda010100 and @good-karma for providing the space for the event!

Thank you for your time,

~ph~

It was a great show, so much so that I'm going to watch the video to try to understand more of what was talked about. Thank you very much for the space you give us every week. Every Wednesday is better than the previous one!!

Thank you so much for your kind words!

While I was doing the show, I didn't even notice the amount of useful information that others were adding to the chat... When I was sorting out this post, I re-watched the whole show and realized how great it was to read all those comments in the chat and discuss them with another participant!

I'm biased, but this show was probably the best ever! But still, not as good as the NEXT one! 😃

Thanks for participating!!!

I really had a good time listening and learning from everyone. Am so grateful that I meant @melinda010100 who invited me to join this awesome group, and kudos to @ph1102 for building a platform for especially newbies like myself to learn.

Men I can't believe my post was included in this official post. It's a real honour. Thank you so much.

I sincerely can't wait for the next episode. As I already have began doing, I will try my best to invite others to join in next week. It's really an eye opening session.

Thank you to all those who participated.♥️♥️

You are most welcome! It was a pleasure to share my experience, and I can say in the name of other participants too! The point is to share our mistakes, and our tryouts, so that newbies can skip most of the painful steps and grow at a faster pace!

Glad to hear that you found valuable information! With the attached recording, you can always come back and re-check what was discussed! 😃

See you next week!

First of all I apologize, I was very sorry when I realized that I was interrupting with my open microphone, it was my first time and I did not know what to do, so I left to not bother. Next time I will do it right, thank you for your support and understanding, best regards to all 🤗

No problems at all! These things happen!
Even if that happens again, I can "mute" you temporarily, but you should be able to listen to the show normally... No pressure at all... We will find a solution... ;)

Thanks for stopping by! You can check out the video from the post and catch up with things that happened yesterday... ;)

See you next week!

It was an interesting show. My first time stumbling upon it. I only joined after I noticed (while perusing discord messages) there was something going on.

I'm hoping you attempt a mulilingual show soon! A brief explanation of the show to include others if you see people in the audience who might benefit? Maybe @palomap3 could explain key points you are making in Spanish in chat?

(Edited)

Wait... Did I mention that in the show, or in our previous chats? It's funny that I had that idea when Paloma did her show explaining Ecency things in Spanish... 😃 At our Hive meetup in Zaragoza, there was an idea to talk on that topic, but the time has run out...

Even a separate multilingual show could be a good idea... Let's see if Paloma sees this, what she would say... 😂 I would gladly be a wingman in such a show...

EDIT: We can continue the discussion in Discord DMs

Well… I have to understand first what is discussed in the show. 😅 But knowing the key points I can assist for sure. I am much better reading & writing than listening & speaking in English. 😌

It sounds like a great show. I do agree that people should definitely increase their own stake. It helps out and the discussion on curation projects is very interesting. From the time I learned about the dust threshold, I knew that I wanted my own vote to have some value because it would literally disappear. I am glad that my decision to focus on HP definitely was the correct one.

Unfortunately, not many think in the same way as you... Short-term gains are almost always more prioritized than the long-term vision... But, okay... That's why I have decided to run the show like this... To share my view and to see how others are viewing things... Through discussions like the one in this show, everyone learns something new...

Cheers!

It was exactly like you said BEFORE the show! 🙂 The topic was "controversial" and it raised different points of view by participants... Which brought a lot of value for everyone!

Thanks for the comment! Have an awesome day and weekend!

The way we're working on this platform and all these three things, the more we know about them, the better for us, and we've seen in the program that everyone has expressed their opinion. It means a lot to us and we will all work together to make this platform a success.

I have to admit that I'm really glad that my post yesterday was noticed among the maximum 5-10 that you get to see.
In addition to the upvote I received, it means to me that by reviewing your profile, I came across, a day late, this recorded live...
And that at a time when I have a lot of doubts about HP delegation (pros and cons and what it means to me, me as a beginner).
At the same time, your and @felixxx opinion about quality posts meant a lot to me, as well as the explanation about the benefits of engagement in communication with other users.
Were you kidding or is there really a community where posts can be posted for additional feedback (if the post is of good quality, in the author's opinion)? because there are situations where some posts, which I think is really good, goes unnoticed.
So let me send name of that community, to test how good my posts are :-)
I'm still young at Hive, so I have to learn...
The Hive universe is too big, there are many different communities, and I've already expanded to more than 10 in which I'm trying to be active...
So over time I'll learn, whether to expand further or concentrate on a couple in which I will acquire my circle of friends for further growth...

Excellent live, I hope that next time I will have the opportunity to listen live, but if not, I will certainly follow to gain further experience. thank you so much for your selfless support @ph1102

Yeah, we were just talking about the idea.

Hey, man! I'm glad that you found the show interesting and valuable!!!

And that at a time when I have a lot of doubts about HP delegation (pros and cons and what it means to me, me as a beginner).

If you want some more thought about the HivePower, that was one of the topics in the previous show... Check out this post: https://peakd.com/hive-125125/@ph1102/aabffnzn

Were you kidding or is there really a community where posts can be posted for additional feedback (if the post is of good quality, in the author's opinion)? because there are situations where some posts, which I think is really good, goes unnoticed.

We were kidding about some possible scenarios, but I had a similar idea on that... To "review" some of the user's posts in the show and maybe give some directions on how to improve... It is a subjective opinion, but it could help people... We had some "after show" time which wasn't recorded and if you come in live, maybe we can do something similar in that time... ;)

The Hive universe is too big, there are many different communities, and I've already expanded to more than 10 in which I'm trying to be active...

Communities are crucial for beginners... Engaging with other authors on their posts is the best way to grow your network... Don't push it too much and try to engage with people similar to you... it's much more fun doing that than forcing and doing stuff that you don't like...

Thank you once again for your kind words and I hope that you will pop into the next #HHHLive... Nobody is forced to talk, and you can just listen if you want...

I hope that we will see you next Wednesday!
