Get Involved and Have Skin in the Game .:. August 1st HivePUD

When I was younger, I was a good listener... I was always (and still) a person who was listening more than talking... Probably because of that trait, I was many times "friend-zoned" 😂, and I had many female friends... Or maybe I didn't understand the signals well? 🤔😂

Anyways, this summer, on my vacation, we had a small Hive meet-up with friends that we met for the first time last year... So, this was our second meetup, to be more exact... We didn't have to introduce ourselves and we could jump right away in talks about HIVE and have a "what next?" discussion...

Before going deeper into the topic, just to clarify... Not everyone here is for the same reason and many people have different reasons to be here, and also, they have different opinions about HIVE in general... I'm not an exception...

Yes, I like HIVE... Yes, I accumulate HIVE and believe in its future, but... Do I agree with everything on HIVE? No, I don't... I disagree with many things that we have here, but I do UNDERSTAND why they exist, but I also BELIEVE that there are better solutions... Thanks to that approach, I'm trying to stay objective as I believe that in that way, I could help the most... When we are subjective, we can't see things as they are, but rather we see them with "pink glasses"...

In my conversation with my fellow Hivers (most of the time listening), I was the person who was "defending" HIVE... But, deep inside, I was on the same page with them, realizing that those things are real issues and they have to be solved... But, how you can change/fix issues on a decentralized platform? You are not the boss, you are not even "employed" here!

As Hive is a DPOS (Delegated POS) blockchain, that is evolved "system" from POS (proof of stake), your main tool/power/word/voice is your STAKE, or in our case HIVE POWER! I'm still a small fish in this pond, but I grow my stake every single day as I CARE about this blockchain... The same goes for all the other great people out there that are growing their stake... They do CARE about the HIVE! Maybe we have different opinions about the future steps for HIVE, but we do CARE about it...

Having bigger HIVEPOWER gives you a "better seat" in the theater... Your voice is heard much further and you can begin some important discussions, you can shape the way how HIVE looks! That's powerful... Then you don't have the right to whine about things on HIVE as YOU make a difference... Not saying that small accounts don't have rights, but having skin in the game is something that means a lot!

Every day, you can find some post where someone complains about things on HIVE, and then you look in the wallet of the person, in their past posts, and you realize what's going on... Yes, everyone can have and can share their opinion, but not everyone genuinely CARES about HIVE... Unfortunately, some care more about their EGO and their personal (short-term) benefit, missing the big picture... Missing the big potential...

Maybe you don't like something on HIVE, but that doesn't have to be the reason for your to leave... That's just a reason to fight for changes, to make things better, to make this place better... Is there a better way to accomplish that than to grow your stake and "sit on the table and negotiate"?

I could be wrong about all this, but I strongly believe that things can (and will) change on HIVE in the future... HIVE is growing, and evolving through time... We had some bad moves in the past, but we had many other good moves too... The same will happen in the future, but people who have SKIN IN THE GAME will be those who will shape the face of the HIVE!

I'm happy to be able to do another 1K HIVE power-up this month too! I will try to do it as long as I have the funds to do it... 😃 For now, my Hive-Engine investments are still doing well, so I can...

It was extremely complicated to do daily power-ups during the last month... I was on vacation for almost a whole month and my daily schedule was out of order, or better said, non-existing... 😂 I was trying to do power-ups in the mornings, but sometimes I would forget (or I didn't have an Internet connection), but luckily, I would do it later in the day... Also, I spent 6 days in the car, on the road trip and that was an additional obstacle... Despite all that, I have successfully powered up HIVE every single day in July, which was crowned by getting my 7th #HivePUM badge this year! That means that I was powering up every day this year!

To get this badge, you should power up at least 1 HIVE every day of the month or create a post every day with rewards set to 100% HP...

So, what is #HivePUD?

Just a short introduction to HivePUD... What does it mean at all? #HivePUD is shortened for the Hive Power Up Day. It's an event when Hive members power up their liquid HIVE and stop any active PowerDown! It is organized by great fellow Hivians @streetstyle and @traciyork and is held every 1st day of a month.
