Competitiveness and Teamwork

I don't know about you, but I know to be very competitive... But, I have noticed lately that when I am, I tend to be in the field where I have a chance... lol... So, it's kind of experienced competitiveness... lol

For being competitive, I probably have to thank my sister... If you have an older sibling, then you know what am I talking about... It's probably the eternal battle for "parents love", which sounds stupid when we are adults, but it is a "thing" when you are a kid... Luckily for me, my sister is a great person, and she was an outstanding kid... Not just in school, but also in life... She was my first teacher, and she learned me to read and calculate even before I went to school...

As she was closest to me, she was also my role model... And having her as an "image to follow" was probably the best thing that happened to me... I was trying to beat her grades in school, I was trying to be a better son, I was trying to help others the same as she helped me... That kind of competitiveness was very beneficial for me, and I hope for my surroundings also...

The problem occurs when we are situated inside the community or the team... If there are too competitive people inside the same team, asking for attention and recognition, it can be the "breaking point" for the whole community... It's the same thing when you have businesses that have been run by more people... Without good planning and job distribution, it can be lethal...

If we raise all this on a higher level and examine more teams/tribes/communities inside one ecosystem (you see where am I going... :)), we can notice a similar image as on a personal level...

We have HIVE as a big social media network and a lot of communities inside it... Unfortunately, some of the leaders think that they are competing with each other... Who is better, who has more subscribers, who have whales support, etc...

They are forgetting that we are playing on the same team... Team Crypto... Team Decentralized... Team Free Speech... Team Freedom...

Check out the video for more chatting about these topics...

Thank you for your valuable time,

~ph~

This is some kind of healthy competition because there is no element of "jealously".

I understand what you want to say with that, but that isn't usually the case... :)

Anyway, it's more like comparison with others, and trying to be better... that concept is a bit better :)

I am more competitive with myself than anything, it drives me to be better at what I do,

When i am playing games with people it is alwways good to do the best you can, I must admit though there is a level of satisfaction if I win :)

And i do like see what levels I achieve daily :)

I was very competitive in my youth. This came probably from my sports side. I still like a little competition but I can very well live with not winning all the time lol.

I think competitivity can be a big motivator to work on oneself to get better and to progress. I however also realize that competitivity can be a big source of pressure, especially among kids. You see the others better than you and you do your best but you can't reach them. It can generate jealousy and also frustration.

What I like most is competitivity within a context of collaboration. It's a bit what we have here within the CTP tribe. We work together as a tribe and develop great projects but still we want to become a dolphin faster than the others :-)

I was bad in sports, and still I am... lol... but... I went to a lot of competitions from Maths and Physics... and it was funny that I won maybe once, but I was 6-7 time the third... lol... So, maybe that taught me that it is OK not to win... lol..

And I know what do you think about the CTP tribe competitiveness... hehehe... As I said, I'm competitive, but these affiliate marketers are another level... lol... :)

That's something that we all thrive... As I said in another comment here, I always try to be +1 the next day in comparison with the previous... In anything that I do...
But, I admit that I can be competitive with others sometimes... :)

Your sister's achievement acts like a motivation for you. That's great! When we are inspired by others' success, it pushes us to move forward. If she/he can do it, so can you.

Yeah... I was lucky that she wasn't some lazy bum... That would be awful for our parents and ourselves... lol
