Sports without audience, is like a pub without beer

Yesterday night I tried my best to watch the game of football between Belgium and Switzerland, but I have to admit, it was like watching paint dry. And it had very little to do with the fact that both teams were playing with their B-level players. But everything with the fact that the stadium was empty.

I thought that by now I would have gotten used to it, but nothing is less true, it bothers me more and more. I can't even watch it. It's like eating Belgian fries without mayonaise or drinking non-alcoholic beer. It looks like it, but it just doesn't have the taste of it. Football especially, has that 12th man factor, a home team with its supporters cheering them on, can do something extra against a better team. Now, it is all the same, at home or abroad, it's all the same...

The famous "Gelbe wand" of Borussia Dortmund, an immense difference with the empty stands we have now!

So, I sincerely hope, that the Covid-vaccine gets unrolled in December and maybe a few months later, we can watch games with packed stands again! I know, it may be wishfull thinking, but it would be so much more fun!
