Great news for the Belgian cycling fans and probably all cycling fans worldwide. Remco Evenepoel is back on his bike. Slowly but surely he will start to train again. And hopefully he will be ready for the Giro, which starts the second week of May.

It was a bumpy ride for Remco Evenepoel after his crash in the Tour of Lombardy last August. After incorrectly judging a turn in a descent he crashed of a bridge and broke his pubis, pelvis and had some damage to his lungs. He was operated after a few days and recovered. He started training again in December of 2020. But he kept having pain. A new scan pointed out that his pubis was still not yet recovered. It was a matter of millimeters, but important ones. Millemeters that made him feel uncomfortable on his bike. So a new rest period was started. Now another scan has pointed out the pubis has healed and he can slowly start riding again. Which is a sigh of relief for all cycling fans. Such a talent like him, needs to be in the races. And hopefully he will get completely ready by the start of the Giro. The team Deceuninck Quick-Step will give him all the time to get fit, and doesn't want to pressure him. But when he starts in the Giro, we all know what to expect, a cycling prodigy, hopefully bringing us, Belgians to delerium.
