A true goalgetter

Josip Weber, Bor in former Yugoslavia, came to Bruges, as a nobody to play for Cercle Brugge in the late eighties. The war in Yugoslavia was starting, he came here looking for peace and a better future. And what a future it was. Three times top scorer of the Belgian League for Cercle, three times more than 30 goals in one season. A transfer to the mighty Anderlecht, and after gaining the Belgian nationality, he became a player for the Red Devils, the Belgian national team, and playing in the 1994 World Cup in the USA!
