Reflecting On Life - Weekend engagement #166

It is very easy for us to become so busy and distracted in the bustle of our everyday lives that we forget to live and fulfill our dreams.

This question is an important reminder to reflect on how we are living our lives and how important it is to live life to the fullest and be consistent in pursuit of our dreams.

Life is a priceless gift, and it's really up to us to make the most of it by prioritizing things that are important to us like our health, passion, dreams, goals, and the like. Above all, let us not forget to leave a legacy behind.

Seriously, if I get to die today, my spirit will be sad and angry because, really, I have not started living yet. There is so much I am yet to accomplish. I have not lived my best yet; there are dreams that have not been fulfilled, visions that are yet to be realized, and goals that I am yet to reach. There are more books to publish than what I have put out there. There are more lives to impart, mentor, and model than the ones I have had the privilege of meeting. How about the many people who are currently going through the same experiences I went through and are eagerly in need of my testimonies to invigorate and energize them to know that they are not the only ones who are going through that phase and that if others have come out, they too can pull through.

Many of us give up on our dreams so easily, maybe because we do not know that the rising of many is tied to our rising; that the success of many people is dependent on our success. We feel we own our lives, and as a result, we can give up on any dream we think is stretching us beyond our comfort zone as we wish. We have forgotten that our actions have multiplier effects on a wide variety of people we are not aware of, ranging from family (both nuclear and extended) to friends, business associates, dependents, colleagues, etc.

One of the ways to live our lives to the fullest and accomplish all we have set out to do is to live intentionally. An intentionally lived life is one that is lived meticulously and with every sense of purpose. When living intentionally, you do not make friends anyhow; you choose the people who you allow into your life because you are fully aware that your friends constitute your circle of influence. A person living an intentioned life does not spend money recklessly or succumb to impulse buying. You know the difference between a need and a want, and you are able to draw up your expenditure list to reflect both categories.

Another way to live life to the fullest and fulfill your purpose is to set goals. Where there is no goal in sight, energies would be exerted in vain. One of the easiest ways to set goals is to have a to-do list where you list out what you want to accomplish and, where possible, assign deadlines in the form of time, date, or both to each task. A task without a target will be a waste of resources, which include your time, finances, energy, intellectual capacity, etc.

This is my participation to the #weekend-engagement week #166. Thanks to @galenkp for this wonderful initiative.

THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END 🤗
