Everybody is building their brand.

Every person has a brand and a unique persona.

When you think of personal brand, names like kardashian, tate, mr beast might spring to mind but they are just the most successful examples of how to do it.

It doesn't need to be universally popular to be successful. It just has to match your views and your business.

Tate is public enemy number one to a lot of people but that doesn't bother him in the slightest. It actually feeds into his image and resonates with his follower base. He grew his brand on being a tough alpha male, a fighter and an icon to follow. Being targeted in the media and by the police just gives him more ammo to show he doesn't give a fuck. More fuel to the people that idolize him and the lifestyle that he portrays.

Personally I think that the Kardashians are far more dangerous to the youth of today but that's a different problem.

Everybody who posts online is brand building.

It doesn't matter whether you intend to or not. That's what you are doing. Every photo, every message, every post adds another layer to your brand and your persona. It's what your friends, neighbors and the rest of the world sees.

If your posting lots of outspoken posts about climate and oil, people will label you.
If you posts lots of bikini posts, people will label you.
If you post your own content, people will label you.

Some people just manage to make better use of all these posts and turn it into a career. They are unique enough or interesting enough that others want to see what they are putting out there and that is worth money.

At the moment only to the top performers but in time we will see a new age of micro earning from your socials and then it will all change.

When every picture or post is potentially worth money then people will be a lot more careful about what they are posting.

Some people will do very well and some will regret not building a better brand when they had the chance.

We have seen an example of this on hive already but when every social is monetized it's going to get very interesting.

Twitter has already started the trend and it's interesting to see how quickly people started posting for views. Trying to fish for clicks and earn a few more cents. Just like the early days here and all the get rich quick people.

They never get that it's a long term game to build a successful brand and that real riches come with time and hard work.

Your post touches on a crucial point in today's digital age: personal branding. From my perspective as an entrepreneur, personal branding has become a currency in the digital world. Before, companies invested large sums in advertising and marketing to build their brand. Now, everyone can do it from their phone or their social media.

Curiously, it's no longer just about selling a product or service; it's about selling a story, an experience, or a journey. People want to connect with real stories, ups and downs, failures, and successes. Authenticity is key here.

I think a lot of people are going to regret not building their online brand. Whether it's web2 or 3. For example, if someone created a certain that X will monetize it's users in 2023, some people will have chosen to build their accounts. It gets more interesting by the day like you've pointed out.

It'll be very interesting to see how it plays out with the other social media platforms. I'm not sure the share holders will want to share revenue streams across all socials what who knows.

There's always disruptive technologies and inflection points though I suppose, where things change so maybe this will be another one and people will start making money over their own social media like Hive.

I think people have to remember though that these services are typically free; they offer free hosting for videos and photos, free communities where people can interact together. Ofcourse the people are the product at the end of the day but they still do get free services on these platforms.

For now though I am delighted to be able to make a few quid on Hive and don't waste my time on any other socials.
