Taco Tuesdays: Pork Ribs and Chop Suey.

Good afternoon friends of the FreeCompliments community, this is my first publication within the community, I am an auditor and business administrator, as well as an inveterate cinephile with diverse musical tastes.

Before I got married, I didn't have to worry about cooking since that task was done by my grandmother or my mother.

When I already had a wife, I committed myself to help her to cook since she didn't know how to cook either. Together we began to learn and sometimes the food was badly prepared or burned, so we learned by trial and error.

Sometimes, we would crave something special, something to share with our daughter, like baked pork ribs, for example, which is easy to cook.

At first I buy some good quality pork ribs:

I proceed to open the packaging and deposit the ribs in an aluminum tray:

This is me, but the picture doesn't do justice to how tasty the pork ribs and chop suey were. I couldn't take any more pictures because I ran out of battery and at that very moment there was a power outage where I live here in the city of Guarenas in Venezuela.

Now, I condiment the ribs with salt, soy sauce, pepper, lemon juice, oregano, rosemary, garlic powder and oil, preferably olive oil, the normal thing is that these ingredients are mixed, and the ribs are seasoned keeping them overnight in the refrigerator, so that the meat absorbs all the juices of the mixture:

The next day, as an accompaniment to the ribs, I make a Chop Suey and for this I chop carrots, cabbage, red and green peppers in horizontal cuts.

I mix these ingredients in a convex frying pan called Wok
which, being concave in shape, distributes the heat very quickly and evenly, cooking the food evenly in the different parts; and also, the cooking time is reduced.

I add some chopped garlic, salt to taste, oil (if it is olive oil it is better), and start cooking the vegetables over low heat:

In the meantime, I take the ribs out of the refrigerator, let them rest in the open air for approximately 15 minutes and put them in the preheated oven at a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius:

.

Back to the Chop Suey, I add two shredded and precooked chicken breasts that I had in my refrigerator prepared four days ago, I start stirring the vegetables and add the magic ingredient that cannot be missing in the Chop Suey, the soy sauce:

I am stirring the ingredients in the Wok for about seven minutes, I observe that the mixture is cooking evenly and acquires a nice color:

I turn down the stove and after twenty minutes in the oven I proceed to take out the ribs and check that they are evenly cooked.

Here are the two dinner plates on top of the stove, ready to serve and eat:

These ribs and the Chop Suey were accompanied with a delicious sangria and some dumplings that my mother-in-law and brother-in-law brought to share on a Sunday.

Here are my mother-in-law, (from the side), and my brother-in-law's hand, both tasting the cooked dishes without any criticism, that is to say, I think they turned out well.

This is me, but the picture doesn't do justice to how tasty the pork ribs and chop suey were. I couldn't take any more pictures because I ran out of battery and at that very moment there was a power outage where I live here in the city of Guarenas in Venezuela.

I hope you have been entertained by my publication, and that it has left something of value within the community. A pleasure to greet you and I bid you farewell until next time.

Greetings dear friend. It is a pleasure to be here and taste from the virtuality of this delicacy, which invades my senses. All a stimulus for my taste buds, that marinade with the spices you mention, must have done the same in that generous piece of pork. And the Chop Suey is the perfect combination and balance, bringing freshness, flavor, and color. The family meal tastes special, feels and is enjoyed differently, and is a delicacy of Gods.
Wonderful sequence of photos, despite the eventualities you mention, it is not noticeable, the process is very well followed.
Thank you for sharing this temptation, it is an incitement to lose one's sanity and flow in the flavors.
Health and wellness to you and your beautiful family @nbarrios67.
