TTT - Electric Six
Hello Hive Music Lovers!,
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by @ablaze.
Christmas is over and we have kicked off 2024. I hope you had a good musical start to the year. The first Tuesday has come around pretty quickly and I was searching for what might be the top tracks of 2023, but still need to do some research there, so maybe that might come next week.
In the meantime, I thought I would share 3 tunes from Electric Six who make me laugh quite abit. The band has toured extensively, so it could be possible many people have seen them live.
The first tune is one of their most popular tracks with a crazy video to go along with it. I remember they had flashing lights on their private parts and was thinking what is going on there!?
Here they perform just in 2022 and are still going strong with even more recent gigs last year! Even more surprising was the seemingly good weather there.
The lyrics and rifts are just so much fun that it is hard not to bop along with them.
High Voltage
Somehow, the gig has a more family wedding vibe to it than a music festival! To compare to their performance at Glastonbury www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTb0O8lBiH0 where I think they totally rocked and the crowd seemed to love them.
The band were much younger back then in 2003. If we fast forward nearly 20 years, here is another more recent performance from 2022 where the band are still rocking it and the humor from the lead singer is great.
Here it is mostly remembered as he dressed up as Abe Lincoln for some reason. I'm not sure of the meaning behind this, but it does stick in my mind.
Gay Bar
The final tune is another classic of theirs which I am sure we have all been humming as we wait for our nightshift to end down at the McDonalds. Hopefully, we were also stacking some sats ready for the ETF launch coming soon.

Electric Six, I'm listening to them for the first time (I think) and I'm very surprised with the power of their sound, there was a time where I always listened to music like that, but I've changed with age hahaha. The guitarist looks too relaxed in all the videos, although the music is at a thousand percent, how incredible it is.
The Gay Bar performance was the most fun, but nothing like the official video of Down At McDonaldz, it's too crazy, I'll leave it here if anyone wants to come and watch it without leaving Hive, too bad it doesn't have better quality.
I am glad to share with you something for the first time. They really are a special band and lots of fun to listen to.

I like bands that are able to mix humor into their songs like this. Bloodhound Gang and Barenaked Ladies were always good at that as well. Also They Might Be Giants. I don't know as though I had ever heard anything by Electric Six before, but the name sounded familiar.
I agree Bozz, I loved the Bloodhound Gang too back in the day. Was cool when they toured my home town.

although the tune of the first two is good i think i like the tune better of Down at Mcdonaldz.

I like the performance of High Voltage, it fits the name quite well too! But there's a good and relatable feel to Down at Mcdonaldz, so that's one my favourite too :)

im barely alive 3am and im reading posts lol cuz i was busy earlier. did i hear that right the guy said taco bell lol? at 3:34ish on the first song.
The songs were all pretty equal for me but I guess if i had to choose one, id choose the first one but i was confused still what happened at the end of that song.
Man, you putting the hours in! How do you do it? Yes the lyrics are pretty great in these songs with some great lines. These are some classic tunes, I was considering to do something more modern like this one:

lol i dont think so. maybe per year. thats a lot per month man
