My Top 3 Hive Diesel Pools
It took me quite a while before I invested in any diesel pools and even longer to figure out how they sort of work, but once I did I am happy that we have some new ways of storing some liquidity.
Some of the first things I was worried about were the dreaded impermanent loss and wondered if it made sense at all. What if one token goes to 0 and you get wiped out. Therefore choosing your pairs is very important. I look to choose tokens that I want to keep both of, so therefore I do not need to worry about a fluctuating token value.
Often that token is some pair with Hive, as Hive I am happy to hold and it is a very useful token for powering up, conversion and even commerce. I haven't used HBD in any commercial transactions, but Hive lots of times. Therefore, I am not convinced of any usecases for HBD.
With this out of the way, I am then interested in the returns available. Usually this is through some inflationary token, rewards or fees. It needs to be a decent return to get my interest and also something more long term instead of a token backed by nothing deflating to 0 and try to sell it as quick as you can and trying not to be the last one out.
Therefore, I haven't invested in too many diesel pools on Hive, but there are a few good ones that I have stuck with over the last couple of years and recently just added a new one that I will share today.
If you are trading tokens, diesel pools can be useful in getting you a decent price and for exchanging larger values that you might not have available on a market. I still often forget to check the prices of using a diesel pool instead of the open market, which is a mistake as you can get some good deals using pools quite often.
My current favorite diesel pool on Hive through Beeswap or Tribaldex is the LEN:LENM pool. Recently the Liotes team added Swap.BTC to the rewards which bumped up the APR to a very interesting level plus as it is Bitcoin, we can be sure that it will be a nice hedge with the Hive price for our rewards. This was a great move and I see that I already received my first Swap.BTC in my wallet:
The other rewards in there are also some very good tokens from the CTPSB and AWESOME projects which are Hive backed and therefore will also keep their value.
My next favorite pool is the great Splinterlands SPS:Swap.Hive pool where you can get nearly 30% APR from holding the SPS token which had a nice runup recently and of course Hive.
This pool provides me with some liquidity to get new cards and ingame items that I may want. With the current 30% return, it seems a no-brainer to use this pool. As I am stacking both Hive and SPS, it is a good combination for me.
The final diesel pool that I like on Hive is the recently created Swap.Hive:GLX pool where you can get around 11% APR which is lower than the others, but is a good place to park my GLX tokens that could go up in the future with games being made on the GLX platform.
Summary
Despite the tough bear market, there are still some good diesel pools on Hive producing good returns and have decent tokenomics. We have seen many projects disappear the last years and it is good to see those that take care of the tokenomics side of things still doing well as we approach the halving and alt bull run.

I mostly use diesel pools to exchange/swap tokens because they are cheaper than buying them at HE or Tribaldex exchanges.
I have added some liquidity in LEN:LENM
As for HBD, the best use of it at the moment is to put it in savings, the APR is 20% and I am very happy with this passive earning.
Thats a smart move, I often keep forgetting. Yes, it seems to hold HBD is more lucrative than holding Hive these days 😀
Every month since January last year, I get the equivalent of about $40 in my account for passive savings. I don't get that from anything here on Hive.

Actually I noticed the Lenm/Len too and I want to put something into it. GLX is a good suggestion.
The GLX one is going to be very nice with the current airdrop there too.
Sold most of it to get DEC for land. :)
The 2nd airdrop is also for SPS holders.

The Arcade Colony one where they fork GLX. I understand the GLX holders will get airdropped first based on staked GLX. Then the 2nd longer airdrop will be 50:50 with staked SPS and GLX.
So they don't take into account the tribaldex liquidity?
They do for GLX first drop, I'm not sure about SPS,.I didn't see anything about that part.

I like the CCC:WIT pool right now. I don't think I can really recommend it unless you already own WIT from that failed token or CCC. I have a crap load of both, from back when the tokens were doing well. I never sold because the price was crashed. Now that they are back and trying to improve them again, I'm taking advantage of the LP.
I don't have any LEN or LENM, but offering BTC is a great reward. I'll look into getting some!
Ah that's good they back trying to improve them, I didn't hear of this pool. I have LEN and LENM and am glad they have been steadily increasing the returns.
I am in the LEN:LENM pool although I have little liquidity but will increase it during 2024.
I'm not crazy about the APR of the SWAP.HIVE:GLX pool because it's close to the APR of the HP curation but the possibility to participate in the airdrops of the next games changes the starting valuation ;)

The LEN pool has certainly grown more attractive and I start to add more there now. The GLX pool is lower but it is great news with the 2 airdrops which will more than compensate I'm sure! 💪❤️

Thanks for the mention of Liotes! We will continue with building a rewards "pot" with quality tokens in the future, too! As recently, the LEN token has gone up, it's nice to get it as a reward for LPs too!
Ah we are thinking alike with LPs 😅 The increase in LEN makes it an attractive reward for sure and adds even more value in the LP for LEN:LENM.
Very nice! My top three pools are probably swap.hive/pwr, swap.hive/bxt, and swap.hive/zing It took me a while to get the courage to start putting funds into them as well. I do most everything through beeswap, it seems to run smoother.

I really like Beeswap for managing my pools too. I do like the graph on Tribaldex though 😆.
Those seem interesting pools, I am not aware of the PWR one.

Wow, it's so funny that I've been exploring and working with a great many diesel/liquidity pools for quite a while now, and yet I don't yet have assets in any of the pools that you mentioned! I'm pretty sure I tried the SPS:SWAP.HIVE pool when I first started, but I didn't have sufficient liquidity for it to be worth it for me, so I removed my assets to reallocate. Perhaps I'll give the pools that you described a try, if and when I have available assets to allocate. I'd say that HBD definitely has use cases, as is being clearly demonstrated in Venezuela, Cuba, and México, and its use thankfully continues to spread. Thanks for the pool ideas! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
I remember that you have tried quite a few of the pools, I will have to check on your next status update. I think the HBD adoption is too small to be called a success. There isn't so much. A usecase for people to hold liquid HBD because they miss out on the high staking returns imo.
Yep, I have indeed. I removed assets from some pools that we poor performers, and from other pools that were great, then the rewards ended and were not reinstated. The HBD adoption seems to be spreading faster in countries that have an impoverished economy. I plan to continue growing my HBD in Savings to the point when I can live off the dust of my monthly interest alone. Yep, it's going to take some time, but I'm determined, and I'm patient. I could use it both on and off Hive. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
That's a good strategy and I can see that your growth is starting to increase as you grow. The HBD returns have been good, giving a higher return than Hive so far this bull run, a risky strategy for the chain though.

It is important because there is no point to invest in Hive if the return is too low.
Well, thankfully HBD is a layer-1 token, side by side with HIVE/HP, and they can slosh back and forth as needed. They also do completely different things, with HIVE/HP still being the most useful and important token on the Blockchain, so it will always be valuable, even if its fiat value is low. We are the true value of the Blockchain! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

It is a good return and impressive at the moment, but my strategy is to hold positions where I want to hold both tokens long term.

I recently discovered BeeSwap and Liquidity Pools. Like you I have known about them but kept clear because I was wary of IP.
The @Holozing project prompted me to explore LPs more as they have been offering a massive 200%+ reward return recently ( will end very soo though).
I have my main Hive:DEC , Hive:zing and Hive:voucher pools, but I also put my Terracore scrap and flux into pools with Hive and use the Shard:Hive pool to turn some Shard from Golem Overlord into Hive.
I have recently discovered the Hive:POB pool that pays out swap.BTC too and I am enjoying building up a little stash of swap.BTC.
Today I liquidated all my GLX:Hive for Hive as I think that project is just all hype ( I was in there on launch and I've been burned by promises, promises, promises), in any case my SPS bag will keep me exposed to rewards from GLG as they seem to be going to include SPS stake in their airdrop again
Those are some interesting LPs. It is good to experiment and find your feet with them slowly over time. The Holozing LP has had some attractive returns, I hope you manage to get out in time.
I hope you got a good price for your GLX, as the fork of the COLONY token seems very attractive. However, it is good to also get the airdrop for SPS holders too. I am just curious if they include SPS holders in LPs or just staked in game. 😀
I exited the Zing LP yesterday, saw there was only 4 days left and decided not to push my luck.
OFC, I sold my GLX at exactly the wrong time...lol!!!, guess I'll be happy enough with the SPS drop, can't win em all eh !! :-)
You never know with these farming LPs, they can exaporate pretty fast when everyone rushes for the exit. Sorry to hear about the GLX!! Good to hear you still get something from SPS.
I've not delve much into diesel pools yet. The main one I'm into is Swap.Hive:Zing. Been planing to explore more of them as they can be a good way to earn decent rewards on tokens that are interesting to us.

I recognise a couple of those, I know the CENT pools had some good returns. My LEN position is around 6%, I start to reinvest my LEN earnings there at the moment.
Wow! 6% is huge. My biggest is 2.225%.
I only added some liquidity to the ALIVE:ALIVEM pool. I am getting the rewards in BEE tokens.
I am thinking about buying some LEN and LENM to join the pool. Let's see what happens :)

I have seen that LP and it has had pretty good returns up until now Dr. The bee rewards are a very nice token go receive.

Swap.Hive zing pool is also pretty profitable. I heard about LEN:LENM pool. I want to add some liquidity to there
I know the Zing one is very profitable at the moment for farming. It doesn't pass the test for me though as 2 tokens that I want to hold long term.

You constantly have to check the pools, every few days I usually look through. A solid 30% is a great return, but hard to turn down 100 percent plus!
