This is my post for #freewriters 2352 prompt tram conductor hosted by @mariannewes
In 2009 me and two of my sisters flew to Pennsylvania to meet another sister and then we drove to Connecticut to meet our oldest sister. From there we drove to Vermont.
On the way to Vermont, we stopped in New Hampshire and took a tram to the top of a mountain. I had never been on a tram or to the top of a mountain like this one, and it was a long long way up, I wondered if the cable was going to break or if we would be stuck halfway up or down. But we made it without any trouble.
We saw a bear on the way to the top and were told we had one hour until the tram came back for us. This worried me because if I saw a bear halfway up, how many were at the top and we would be there by ourselves for an hour?
I do not remember the name of the mountain but it was higher than I have ever been. A couple more steps and it was straight down, it made my knees shake when I stood here.
And what did one of my sisters find? Is it what we thought it was? It looks like a bear clawed this tree, and she was laughing about it.
If the bear came for me I was going to jump on this tree horse, yank its roots from the ground, and outrun him.
The wind would have blown us over the edge if we got to close to it.
We found a stack of prayer rocks and each added a rock to it and said a prayer for someone.
This sister had a lot of prayers to pray because she picked the biggest rock.
I think she threw in an extra prayer so the bears would not eat us before the tram conductor got back.
This was a bench that was placed there for the people who did not want to sit on a horse tree.
It was a day that I will not forget.

I'm not fond of heights, but I have ridden ski lifts many times, which helped me get more accustomed to that sort of thing. Once, we rode in a ski lift that was more like a tram, and it was in the summer; people ride it to go hiking and such. It was a lot farther down to the ground than an ordinary ski lift with chairs only, but we were safe.
I have never been on a ski lift, or skiing on snow, only water, the ones with chairs would scare me, not by riding it but the getting on and off of it.
That was tricky to learn, especially getting off, and I fell a few times. But I was younger then...
