5 minute freewrite Sunday prompt devil's bride
This is my post for #freewriters Sunday prompt devils bride hosted by @daily.prompt
A few weeks ago we had to separate one of our hen quail from the rest because she started pecking the others, she actually had a hole eaten in two of the other's backs. In my book, if a creature wants to eat another one of its kind alive, it is no better than the devil's bride.
We put her back in the pen with the others. The first thing the male did was climb on her and do his thing. He is the one who had the biggest hole eaten in his back. They seem to be getting along now, so maybe taking her out for a few weeks taught her to not pick on the others.
My husband grew these little watermelons, when we cut one, we each can eat half and want more. I think the same would go for the quail. They really like watermelon.
My husband put the pig fish and crab traps back in the river last week. He fished for a couple of days. On the first day, he had 34 pounds of jacks. On the second day, he never caught a fish, he had 2 bites and both times missed the fish because his pigfish came back foul hooked, the hook went back through the bait and buried where the fish could not get hooked.
After that, he pulled all of the pig fish traps back out but wanted to leave the crab traps because the crabs that he caught to put in the pig fish traps were huge, so he wanted to catch more big ones to eat. He only caught small ones and not that many.
