5 minute freewrite prompt not another election

This is my post for #freewriters 2226 prompt not another election hosted by @mariannewest and @daily.prompt.

My husband's truck is still broken down so he took my truck this morning. He does not like to drive it but he said he will take it to the ramp closest to our house. He says my truck is a piece of crap, I told him that it is not the one that is broke down.

He had a good day, catching 90 pounds of pompano, I wish I could go tomorrow but we only have the one working truck and I have another doctor's appointment.

When my husband got to the boat ramp he called me and asked if I would drive my truck to the fish house if he would come get me. I think his phobia about my truck is silly but I told him I would and I would be down at the mailbox waiting on him. His truck that is not running is smack dab in the middle of our yard where we can not turn my truck around.

We went to the fish house and weighed the fish, it had been a while since I had been there, and I could not help to notice all of the notices hanging on the wall, like no fish with red eyes, no fish under a pound, put your fish in totes with plenty of ice on them. The notes were everywhere like politician posters but it was not another election but the lady that works there is tired of having to throw out bad fish and I do not blame her.

We discussed how I was to get the truck and boat down the driveway and in the direction for him to pull straight out. He said to pull straight in and back into the north driveway I told him I could not do that because of the power pole, I tried it before. I said I backed the old green boat all the way to our south gate before so that is what I tried.

When I got to the corner, it was an S-shaped corner, I got off the edge of the road and we just had 16 inches of rain. The Beast sank in the mud, we tried and tried and it was not moving. My husband said to wait until his sister got home and she could pull us out, but she was not answering her phone.

I got tired of waiting and got a shovel and some boards and some more boards and finally got it out. I went out of the driveway and turned around to come in straight, we unhooked the boat and after several tries I got the truck turned around. We hooked the boat back to it and with several tries, I got it outside the gate and headed in the right direction. Now he just told me that they are calling for it to blow tomorrow and he might not go.
