5 minute freewrite prompt no nuance

I want to go back in time, to a place when our children could be a half mile from home and you knew they would be home before dark. You never worried if someone was going to snatch them up.

Back when you could go to one doctor and when you could go to the pharmacy of your choice.

Even before computers and cell phones, when mothers watched their babies at the park instead of watching a phone.

I do believe computers make life easier but at what cost? They are also making us dumber, how many phone numbers do you know without looking at your phone? We used to know all of our family and friend's numbers by heart.

Before things like the ice bucket challenge and no nuance November and every other challenge that people post on social media. No nuance November is when people post on a social media site saying whatever comes to their mind without an explanation. That is what I got out of the meaning, to tell the truth, I have never heard of this. The ice bucket one is pretty easy to tell you about. People dumped buckets of ice water over someone's head. There might have been more to it, but I am old.

Kids used to play outside using their imaginations, now they sit in the house and play on game boxes, even babies playing on tablets. I suffer from arthritis from picking fish. How are these children's hands going to be when they get my age?......

My husband has been fishing, when the weather lets him go. We picked up his check today, and he made 280.00. BUT I was going to take his truck today and it was slow to start, like the battery was going dead. He put the battery charger on it and tried to start it again. When he turned the key it killed the battery dead. Since the battery was from 2018, we went to Walmart and bought a new one.

It still would not start and was draining this battery. He got his meter and checked the voltage in the alternator, it was bad. Between the battery and the new alternator, it was 230.00. We are thankful he fished and it did not take the entire check.

Because we were using my truck to drive around to get things for him, I needed diesel, it took 55 dollars. We ended up spending the entire check plus 5.00 and it has not made it to the bank yet.
