This is my post for #freewriters Monday prompt no restraint hosted by @daily.prompt

When I was young and half my kids, too, did not need to wear a life jacket on a boat when they and I were young. The above photo is me and my brother, he is holding me on the bow, this is how we crossed the river, Mom or Dad would drive the boat. By boat a store was 2 miles across the river or 10 miles by car, 5 miles of it was what we call sugar sand which is very soft.

We not only did not have car seats or seatbelts, we rode in the back of pick up trucks, all with no restraints. I have to say, I agree with car seats for young children but it should be my choice if I want to wear my seatbelt. Don't get me wrong, I wear it but if I want to take it off when I get on my long dirt road to home where I am doing 25mph, I should be able to take it off.

This morning my husband told me this story about a newborn lizard.

He said he saw the smallest lizard that he has ever seen. He stuck his finger down on the workbench and he came running over to it, he looked it all over and decided it was not Mama and ran off. There was a 1/2-inch gap that he tried to jump. My husband said he could see it was unsure about it, he said it looked like it just came out of the egg. It looked back at my husband's hand and leaped, he made it about 1/4 of an inch and fell to the ground where he ran under the work table.

I wish my husband would carry his phone on him, but ever since he had to get rid of his flip phone and get a smartphone, he does not carry it. He says it is too big in his pocket.

Photo is mine

I remember the days of no seat belts! We had a '54 Plymouth Belvedere and it had no seat belts. I love the old photographs you share. I should dig some up sometime.

Please do, I also like to look at old photos. When my Dad passed my oldest sister took his picture albums, the kind where the pictures were stuck under a plastic page and instead of pulling the pictures off or leaving them alone she cut which ones she liked, ruining the ones on the other side. I am still mad about it.

Oh my. I would have been very disgusted with that. I love photo albums, and doing a scrapbook-style album is the one craft-like hobby I engage in.
