5 minute freewrite Friday prompt fresh corpse

We went to the cheap food store this morning and spent 49 dollars, but we got a 10 pound box of breaded chicken breast, they are frozen but loose in the package, they were 9.99. Why do stores do this, why not just put 10 dollars? I also got more snacks than I usually buy because my youngest two are now living here.

On one of our past trips to the cheap food store, we splurged on ducks, they had a box of 8 for 50 dollars. My husband did not want to buy them but I knew how much he likes to eat ducks, I talked him into getting them. When we got home and my husband opened the box, they had their head and feet still on., they looked like a fresh corpse. My husband cut the feet off so they would fit in big ziploc bags.

My cousin had a Dr appointment this morning, so we wanted to wait until he came back home to take the fish to him. He is the one on the left, he has Parkinsons and the Dr told him today that he had another kidney stone, it is 8mm. He only has one kidney.

It is terrible to see him in this condition, he used to be so active. Getting old is bad enough without medical problems to make you feel worse.

My husband helped put the fish into my cousin's friend's cooler, the friend tried to pay us several times and was very grateful for them, that was good enough for us.
